Good morning one and all!! Happy Pre-Turkey Day!! I started out my morning driving the gf to work because, well ... because. I came home and decided to dance in the snow like I was Snoopy.

Decided to start PTD with this Yards Tavern Porter that has been in the fridge for at least a year and a half. Ya know what? It didn't suck! So I am gonna have to try for a Turkey beer after I pick up the better half. On to the music ...
The theme to a movie I would like to nominate for next years PTD ... worthy of MST3K!

Next up ... love 'em or hate 'em, they're like a cockroach: been around forever and equally as hard to pin down. (A band I've always had a soft-spot for .... )

Thanks to @TongoRad , @Ozzylizard and that other guy that makes it rain points; you know .... um ... uh ... oh yeah  @MUTINY for hosting this event. Cheers, y'all!!!

I always tell myself that I'm going to cellar some BB, but it never seems to work out that way...

First Turkey Beer from me comes with my own story of neglect-
    [IMG]
    Winter Rental by Beach Haus
This was given to me as a sample by my Beer Guy. Last Year. I just didn't get around to it for whatever reason (I dunno, the contract brewed Beach Haus stuff just isn't that exciting, I guess), and it's been in the garage since then. Yup, there were changes of temperature and humidity, although no direct sunlight, but still I'm not expecting much from this regular gravity black lager.

First whiff is dusty old cocoa powder and something fairly musty. Maybe expired flat cola as well. The taste, however, takes it to a whole other level. Harsh. Ouch, how harsh. replace 'fairly' with 'very' and 'musty' with 'toxic mold', and that's where this is headed. Straight past unpalatable and into prime horrible territory. Yeccccch...

Maybe this Winter Rental was a nice one all that time ago when it had new wallpaper and carpets, but after some serious neglect I just wouldn't stay there today. In fact, I think I hear something down in the root cellar, but I'm sure as hell not gonna find out what it is; I'm taking the safe route out of town and not even looking in the rear view mirror.

Here's a song that proves that if you are not known for being frivolous and goofy, you should just leave that job to the professionals. Enjoy :stuck_out_tongue::

    Happy Saturday Ba.
Going to get my Turkey Day entry out of the way first thing today. I saw several bottles of Victory's Moving Parts IPA on the sale shelf and figured it was the one to go with. Enjoy By date of 2/26/15. $1.99, but I had almost that much in returns, so this one ran me about a quarter, and I'm not sure if it's worth even that much.
It's actually not as bad as I was expecting it to be.:grimacing: Although there is a bit of foam sitting on top of the beer that just won't go away and kind of looks like custard and it's freaking me out a bit. Pretty malty and bitter.

The boys are a bit concerned about what's going on here. Fear not my furry friends, we'll get into the good stuff later.
Maybe take a nice bike ride out to Ithaca Beer and pick up some more of that tasty tasty Nordic Pines.

    Cheers.:slight_smile::grinning:

Nice!! The name of the beer reminded me that if we were at the cabin :grinning:, I'd have a few more old turkeys... but no internet to share them :slight_frown:.

Since I'm not there I can't do turkeys all day, although after @MUTINY's first post, I may have another option. This is definitely NOT a turkey:

By the way, couldn't make it halfway through the My Antonia - not even sure why I tried to get that far.
