Tonight is for Virginia craft beer. To start, there is a Starr Hill IPA, a couple of Midnight Brewery brown ales, and a couple of Devils Backbone Vienna lagers. I was hoping to get a couple other brewery IPAs but time got away from me today.

I had no intention of participating in Turkey Day but fate intervened as I cleared the fridge to make room for the Thanksgiving birds I purchased today. Nestled in a spot of the fridge where I can only assume this gem was hiding for fear of being poured out if I found him. He was covered in years of minor fridge spills, random produce leaves and all of the other dregs that inhabit the bottom shelf. I coaxed him from his spot with the promise of glory and fame that would come from Turkey Day. We were both curious how he found himself in my fridge but we figured it was the ghost of Turkey Day past and left it at that. It is now his time to shine. I grabbed a dusty champagne glass and didn't bother to clean it as it could only make this experience better. I introduce you to:

This beer (or whatever the hell it is) is not AMAZING. It smells like old limes, cheap bathroom dispenser perfume and gym socks that were fermented in a bucket at the bottom of a dumpster that was placed in Death Valley for almost 100 years. Which is odd because they probably didn't have bathroom dispenser perfume back then.

The taste would be like mopping this off MJ's head

and wringing it out through a dirty bar rag with lime juice and spray cleaner on it. The people responsible for this should be apprehended and immediately escorted to The Hague in order to be held responsible for their crimes against the entirety of the human race.

I wish I could tell you that in the spirit of things that I drank the whole thing but I did not. The small sip I had is lingering and I fear I may have destroyed some actual taste buds. I hope I don't have nightmares tonight. Cheers all.

Turkey Beer #2, the pictures speak for themselves.

This one gets the stank eye.

    Tasting notes:

A - Hazy toasted caramel color.

S - Toasted caramel and vinegar.

T - Toasted caramel and vinegar.

M - Toasted caramel and vinegar.

O - Toasted caramel and vinegar. Do not buy, this beer is so two dimensional.:grinning:!!!!

After the first one of the night being Ogre urea and now this un-predictable beer that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering "what nuance" was going to hit next ...:grinning:. I need a glass of redemption and this one smells and tastes like the Rose of Sharon after those last two!!

Giving Dark Horse Scary Jesus Rock Star another chance. Wasn't too impressed last time, but that was IPA #3 of the night, and the first two were gems, Sucks and Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. Agnostic's favorite beer is leading off tonight. Let the adventure commence

Actually I was surprised that their Northern Lights IPA was good. Did not expect it. I usually do not buy their products unless I am in a bar and it is on tap. In the summer though I did drink a number of their pilsners.
