    @vabeerguy
    I think you're safe with DC Brau, as they're based in DC. That's a huge mission that you're undertaking brother - I wish you luck. Let me know if you find something truly killer that I need to try :slight_smile:

    Edit: Also, let me know if you have any questions about any local brews/breweries that you're curious about.

    Not that we can agree on. I went to a friend's to watch football a couple weeks ago and everyone was drinking that. Not one to turn down a local beer I've never had, I tried one. The only reason I didn't pour it out was because I was a guest. After that I stuck with the Centennial IPA I brought.

    This was actually really good. Coming from a guy that hates Gin I was expecting the spruce to impart a similar flavor. To my surprise it works well with the hops.

    Im going to regret this I'm sure but I'm jumping on board with, what I originally thought was a horrible beer. This babys a year old and is the sweetest, most disgusting example of an ancient TIPA I've ever tasted. Check out date ....if I can get this down I'll need a fire extinguisher by the toilet.Remember the wine you sneeked a taste of at Grandmas house when you were young ? This tastes like cooking sherry. It does serve as an excellent way to keep your fuel injecters clean. Keep a bottle in your trunk for the next time you fill up....[IMG]

    Just polished off a grunt of Loowit's Shadow Ninja IPA (which may have the best name of any IPA I've had in a long while) at Spokane's South Hill Growler Guys - who'd just got their power back after the historically bad wind storm of last Tuesday. The beer was nothing terribly innovative, just a great PNW style IPA. Vancouver, WA seems to be turning into a hotbed of tasty beers. Across the river from Portland = what took so long?!:wink:

    I did some shoveling this morning when I woke up and to be honest, it was nice. I always feel good after working in the cold. Ran to the store and picked up some supplies, beer & food. Made a batch of Chai tea pickled black grapes. A batch of Coffee Pickled Beets. And a batch of Ginger Simple Syrup throughout the day while I flipped through the college games.

    Just finished up dinner. Chinese sausage and rice, kimchi, and great pork & fennel dumplings from a little Chinese place in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. They make hand pulled noodles and about 10 varieties of dumplings. They sell the frozen dumplings in 50ct bags for cheap. First beer of the night was with dinner too and I'm still working on it now as a matter of fact.

    And music. I try and change it up on here as often as possible but I'm sure I've posted this before. Been listening to Ghost a lot lately.

    Very tempted to crack another of my previous beer (stone xocoveza), but it was too good. I want to make the rest last a while. Solution, go to another great beer (that I can pick up any time I want).

    An underrated beer, best at warmer temps. Rustic and unusual.

    There's no one but myself to blame. That's why I'm here with this -

    This beer deserved so much better. If it were a dog, it would be in one of the many Human Society commercials seen so frequently on TV . Bottled June 2014 and sent to me in a trade; for whatever reason, it was pushed to the back of the line. Never treated like one of the other beers, it was moved from room to room until it wound up in my balcony closet. If being forgotten wasn't enough, it was left to freeze in that same closet. Yet, it held on to hope. I discovered it with slush around the cork, took it and placed it in the fridge to thaw slowly. There it remained until today ...
    Oh, it's so bad. It looked pretty good until I got close enough to smell it. It smelled like a three day old puppy pad. The carbonation left with the head of the beer. The taste, blue cheese that had been wrapped in aluminum foil and left in the sun. I tried to finish the glass. With every sip, I made a face that inspired my girlfriend to say "Why are you doing this to yourself?", to which I would reply "Because everyone else IS! " I couldn't take it anymore though and wound up pouring it. That being said ... let's do it again next year!!! By the way, thanks to @Ozzylizard for looking into The Green Slime MST3K episode! A ground breaking episode like that should have been saved!

    Cheers!

    A rare non-IPA for me but if I'm gonna stray I might as well keep it top shelf. What a terrific milk stout!

    My guess is that many of you munch on some kind of snacks while enjoying your favorite brew. My wife bought a cheese called Creamy Toscano Dusted with Cinnamon. It is true, it has a cinnamon taste. I did not think I would like it but I did. Perhaps it took a number of beers to reach that conclusion.
