The last of my "family" just showed up. You have already met the neglected son, the Redd-headed step-child, and the beloved newborn ("yesterday"). I really hesitate to mention this one, as he is the black sheep of the family. But he is here and he makes a presence in the room, so I can't avoid it:
The oldest of the family, he is the result of one drunk night years ago, and yes.... he's mixed race, deal with it. Now the reason he's the black sheep is that he has an off-putting personality, giving an air of rotten citrus fruit and vegetables. Sure, he looks okay, but he has way too big of a head.

I am actually hesitating opening my mouth to talk to him, fearful of what may come up. But it is the holidays, and what are they for other than attempting to tolerate extended family :flushed:. Here goes...

Well, that didn't go as bad as expected. In fact, the conversation was quite bland, almost as bland as the result of a full mug of ice and Coke the day after a party. I guess I should be happy we didn't get into anything that would upset me.

So there you have it, guys. I think I'll cut my losses and not continue talking to Mississippi Mud (a nickname he earned long ago as a riverboat gambler :astonished:). I'd rather strike up a conversation with the older members of the family, even though some of them are Old Curmudgeons and Bastards from Backwoods. At least they will be interested to see if the Caps can avoid giving up the other half of their 4 goal lead.

    Cheers, beer family !!!

Actually you may help with one brewery I never heard about until my wife, of all people, told me about. A former colleague of mine and I hit a lot of breweries within driving distance. My wife drops us off and picks us up (sometimes off the ground). Anyway there is a brewery called Original Gravity that is on our radar. If you know anything about them, I welcome the advice.

This is really fantastic. Just a tropical juice bomb with just the nicest hit of bitter on the finish for that perfect backbone. This is definitely worthy of the hype. 8%? This is downright smooth as hell. One of the best I've ever drank.

This was supposed to be a non-turkey beer for the evening. Tastes and smells very nice, but is totally flat :slight_frown: Still tasty, but some carb would help this soooo much.
    Cheers!

Not sure what picture is showing in my second beer post above. I tried changing the picture through edit mode, but still looks like the stone (makes me look like I am bragging about all the stone xocoveza in my area; this was a rare treat). If you need to unlike my second post, I understand. In fact, you should...don't encourage people that can't figure out technology; aka me.

Anyway, the beer I switched to is this one...

Right...I forgot you're an RVA guy. Sadly, I'm more knowledgeable about NOVA stuff. All I can say is that I've never once heard a bad thing about OG, from anyone, ever. Based on that alone, given your proximity, I'd say hit them up. Maybe you could school me a bit on what's going on down there :-)

Trinity brews some cool beer. It's always interesting whether it's good or not. There's a lot to say for that. They also brewed the most face implodingly sour beer I've ever had, Old Growth.

Agree Citizen is far from my favorite beer, I've made a mistake of grabbing it before, but was able to work my way through it with a small amount of trouble.

Phenomenal. This is a 2014 bottle so it's probably around a year old now. This has been in my fridge for awhile, and I was waiting for an occasion. Well, today is random-ass-saturday-in-the-middle-of-november-day so I believe it was warranted :grinning:. Not as good as Abt 12, but this is really damn good.
