Another poor lager


I'll dive into my main stash in a moment. 60% of my beers are ones for review...that's how I rock it. The other 40% are the ones good enough to warrant a second purchase (or third, or sixteenth)

Touted as a tailgate beer, I'll treat it as such, being as that it was only $1.49 for the can. Nowhere on the label does it say anything about being a "Vienna Lager".

It looks peachy golden with honey tints, a 2 finger head with mild rock, light lace.

Smells of skunky cereal, and a little grass. Skunked grass. Nothing more.

Luckily the flavor is a little better with a decent malt flavor - namely rice, corn, and barley in that order. Straw and hay also permeate, slight bread crusts towards the finish with the slightest pinch of yeast. As the beer warms a few degrees (we are talking a matter of minutes) the skunk comes out in the flavor as well.

It feels crisp but borders on medium bodied which is nice; zero creaminess; zero parch, slight crisp semi-dry on the finish.


Overall thoughts : Is it better than Bud Light? Hell yes. But there's several better tailgate session lagers for the choosing.

Tyranena is awesome. Their stuff was always more special when it was Wisconsin only. I'd load up on 4 packs on trips up north. Now I don't buy it much since it's been in Chicagoland. Funny how that works. Guess I'm part of the problem.
