I enjoy a BA Narwhal but the BA Raspys have underperformed over the past several years IMO. I'll stick to regular Raspy and spend the $20 on Black Friday somewhere.. :-)

$20 is my end all breaking point, and really $15 is my realistic breaking point. My store had stone southern charred and double bastard in the rye last night for just over $20. Had to say no. That means I didn't go out of my way for BA narwhale last night and passed on BA Raspy when it was sitting in front of me a few weeks ago. Just can't do it. It would have to blow my mind for prices like that. I'll have to be content drinking my peasant imperial stouts.

I'll make an exception for BC, as I haven't ever had them, and really want to.

$24 for a 500 ml bottle is a little steep but I ended up buying 2 of the rye aged bottles. I drank the first and feel kind of ripped off. I didn't think it was all that great and definitely not worth the price. It was good, but I probably won't buy again next year unless they do some kind of coffee version.

I picked up one to sit on for a year. Honestly, I just didn't want to miss out on it. Surprised at how many I've seen though.

Only tried this once and wasn't really a fan. Did a side by side a few years agon on NYE with Dark Lord, BCBS and OR. OR was like black tar. Hard to drink.

Big part I would think is price. Cheapest I've seen around me is 21.99, and seen it going for over 30 other places.

I really enjoy this beer, but I can understand the disappointment in price performance. Dollar or dollar, ounce to ounce, I'm not too crazy for this beer.

I think most bourbon or spirit aged barrel beers are a dumb gimmick. If you want to taste good spirits, drink good spirits.

For those complaining about the beer price...look at what a good bourbon costs

I am not a big fan of North Coast's 750ml prices in a 500ml format but will buy the Brandy barrel oldstock all day long.

PS some of us like spirit flavors in our beer and don't think of it a gimmick :grinning:
