Actually it is an old Pennsylvania brewery probably almost as old as Yuengling. Back in my college days if we had enough money we would buy the good stuff (Yuengling). If we were poor we bought Stegmaier. If you ever had Steg you would remember the metallic taste!

Busch Light. Still tastes like water, still great for drinking outside on a warm day with friends.

They had a better Porter, though. And their 1857 premium lager was stellar at times.

I will still drink Rolling Rock or Coors Banquet (that will never die IMO).

Macros get a bad rep, but really a lot of them DO kick ass. Every night? Hell naw. I like my Russian Imperial Stouts, Imperial Porters, Rauchbiers, and Kolsches. But sometimes those macros hit the spot.

You're a youngun to remember those "premium beers.":wink: I'm pushing (hard) against 50, and I remember thinking those beers were the shit in the 80's.

I guess my 'blue pill' is nothing. Only ever knowing macro, I never liked beer, was too lightweight to get into alcohol, so I just didn't drink... until I discovered craft beer. I definitely now understand some beers that I previously didn't like.

Yea. I get scoffed at for still having a pallet and appreciation for the macros.
But its not like I'm throwing back 6/night or comparing them to real beer.
They will always have their time & place for me.
    +1 for puck beers!

Mine is a beer, that is considered by most to be a shitty Mexican beer, but I believe it is one of the best mass produced beers to come out of the region. Negra Modelo, I love it because every now and then I have to have Mexican food and when I do, I so look forward to a few of these.

None. I've drunk more beers in the past than I'll drink in the future, so I try to make every one count now.

Back in the 80's, it was Lowenbrau for me. I loved those pony bottles (or cubs), because your beer never got warm and they were easy to stash from the cops and parents alike.

I love the way the question was put in the OP. Here in supposed beer paradise, drinking habits aren't hugely different, there's just some shuffling of the demographic of who's drinking what. But basically the great majority of beer drinkers drink the one standard pils in whatever bar they're in. You literally just order "a beer," don't specify a name (you're more likely to specify the amount), and that's what you get. So it is awfully nice sometimes when out with a group of people not to have to be the @$$ ordering something different in a round of 15 "beers." In that case, the point is not to choose, but to surrender the idea of choice. 90% of the time around Brussels, it's Jupiler.
