What time are you getting in line?

  1. When doors open. I'm not waiting in the fucking cold overnight for a glorified stout.

Friday's forecast calls for 52 and mostly sunny. Fantastic weather for December. Even warmer on Saturday, but they're calling for rain.
If Dark Horse has the same security group as last year, I just hope that the girl who was the control freak in the group doesn't show up. She caused all of the chaos when everyone packed up last year.

Arriving between 8 and 9 on Friday night to set up the tent. I know they are passing out the order forms at 6pm, but we will still be there to share good beers and good times with our BA friends!

    Why?
They don't open until 11am & have asked that people not make a line.
Beyond that, the first ~450 people get everything that they want so lines are unnecessary this year

The actual quote is "We don't want lines, but unfortunately we have to prepare for them. People will NOT be allowed to line-up until 7 am Friday morning in the Beer Garten when staff will be present."

Check my math but I think if each person filled out an order with the full allotment you would need to have this order # (or lower) to get the following:

    2015 BBA Plead the 5th: 1,281 cases / 2 case limit = #640
2015 Rum BA 4 Elf Winter Warmer
    : 1,614 - 4 packs / 3: 4 pack limit = #538
2014 Vintage BBA Plead the 5th
    : 968 - 4 packs / 2: 4 pack limit = #484
2015 Double BA BourbRum Plead the 5th
    : 933 - 4 packs / 2: 4 pack limit = #466
    2015 BBA Sarsaparilla 666 Stout
    : 1005 - 4 packs / 2: 4 pack limit = #502

It would technically be an even higher order # considering not every order will have a full allotment for each beer.

A good solution to selfish asses that line up before the asked time, is to skip every one of them when giving out tickets.

So based on those numbers....arrive at 3AM, score your allotment a solid 15 hours later....

Arriving around noon means I should get my cases around midnight, or Wednesday?

I have to imagine if you show up before 5, you'll be fine. Lincoln Park binnys had about 800 people in line for BCS, and that's the biggest release in the country. Granted, it's different, but not everyone buys $260 (or up to around $400-$450 if you max out) worth of beer at 4-Elf. That's a ton of money. A great number buy 1 or 2 4-packs of bbot5 and call it a day.

Which makes someone arriving at 10 AM Thursday a ridiculous person.

Exactly...this year DH has done everything they can to not have a line, there is plenty to go around. My first 4Elf was 2 years ago & I was order ~325 & was one of the last ones to get BBPt5th & now 2 years later almost double that amount can get 2 cases

I'm all for bottle sharing & plan on doing it after 6pm when I can find a spot in the spacious bier garten to set up & meet friends for shares & stories but I don't plan on getting there until 5pm or so

I think the fact that while bbpt5 decreased, everything else increased, so it's no longer "fuck it, I'll mark everything", which could mean a $400 tab.

Honestly, all I care about is bbpt5, but it is nice that you don't have to be one of the first 200 or so people to buy the other stuff.

That is the best plan in my book. Going for the share, and the good times. Looking forward to it. Safe travels everyone!

I plan on only getting may be half of the allotments for everything at the max, but plan on spending Friday in Marshall Christmas shopping for the wife before I get in line.

This, except maybe 5 PM on Saturday, not Friday. The vast majority of folks are only there to buy maybe a case or two of BBPt5, and if you're buying the other stuff, well, then you haven't been paying attention to the warnings of a lot of folks (myself included) with regard to the quality of the stuff. We'll be seeing a whole lot of folks here on Sunday/Monday saying 'walked up on Saturday night, grabbed a case (didn't wait in line), enjoyed the party, ate duck tongue, great time overall, looking forward to next year.'
