You know, I was thinking about the online sales hint...

Fool's Paradise --> Oingo Boingo --> Danny Elfman --> Nightmare Before Christmas --> Halloween --> Pumpkin beers -->
    Burly Gourd + Ignis Fatuus.

It would make sense for the 2014 variant and earlier version hint... but it doesn't match the labels all the way. Plus the seafaring thing doesn't make sense.

For those of you who have tried 2015 White Chocolate and Juggling Walruses, I have two specific questions for ya:

    • 2015 WC: Does this year's batch have that tartness humming in the background that we all despised so much from the last 2 years? I realize that The Bruery is now flash pasteurizing, which will certainly zap any bugs that could lead to infection, but I have no interest in spending the $$$ on this beer if it's merely a shadow of its former self (aka b1 cookie dough --- hnnnnnghhhh)
    • JW: How acidic is this beer? I personally find ToD to be way too one dimensional for my palette: sour. I'm liking the softer acidity to recent Terreux releases and am really only interested in buying this big guy if it is more than just a low pH face melter
    Thanks!

Who hurt you? It's not your fault.

Wasn't complaining. Yes I'm more than happy this 10 a.m no earlier works to my favor but it's a online sale that's a perk. No one owes me anything.

There were quite a few considerations that went into making this change... As you know, we've done midnight releases in an attempt to limit traffic. We received feedback that 12 consecutive days of midnight releases was terribly inconvenient for most. Believe me, it's been inconvenient for me too! As we saw on Black Friday, it's still possible to flood the site with enough simultaneous requests to bring down the site at midnight.

After discussing all of our options, we landed on the current plan of publishing the beers at random times as early as 10AM and no later than 4PM PST. This way, no matter the time zone, the beer will be up during most members' normal waking hours. Since it's random, we expect to see a more natural 'bell curve' looking spike in traffic, rather than a sharp spike of thousands of requests on the site in the 30 seconds leading up to the beer is published.

I could go on and on about the alternate plans we've considered and specific why we feel other plans wouldn't be as good as what we're doing, but I think that's a conversation better had over a beer, or three.

Our #1 goal is continuous improvement. We hope that what we're doing this time around provides a better overall member experience than previous archive sales. If it doesn't we'll take all the feedback we can from this year and make adjustments for next time.

Now stop reading this, and check the store!

    Cheers,
    Matt Olesh

I'm so happy I'm able to grab more Rum BT. Probably my favorite BT variant.

I'm glad to get another Rum BT. The labels looked similar to the regular labels. I muled a bunch that others got in the raffle and gave away all 3 by not looking close enough. I was able to recover 1.

I'm splitting a membership and my name is the once associated with it. Is there any issue with letting the other person order what they want using their CC info under my account?

Just change the name on card and it is a good way to organize who's is who's. No need to change the billing address either, not sure why but never had to.

No problem. As the "other" member I did this all year long.

I wonder how many people here have been around long enough to remember Alesmith Decadence 2007 Imperial Porter -bal aged to get why blue bbls and salty bbls is extra funny.

Do both of you live in the same zip code? If so, that would explain the lack of needing to change the billing address since the vast majority of eCommerce platforms only verify zip when performing transactions via their payment gateway. If you live in different zip codes, then it's pretty odd that it hasn't caused any issues.

I'm still waiting for the Douche Chills -bal aged release.

Woot, wasn't paying attention but still snagged a RBT. I am a fan of the random release schedule. If you are in tune with a beer community (such as BA) you have a pretty good shot at getting a heads up passing through as opposed to mindlessly refreshing the storefront.

That was pretty nice. I got on my laptop at like 10:04, logged in pretty quickly, added the beers to my cart with no hassles. I've never had Rum BT, so I'm pretty excited.
