LOL all of them. Not saying PW is not worth picking up, those are actually an extra horizontal. I buy a lot of PW, usually 3 of each BA beer. Just trying to point out an example of how people get disappointed when one beer sells out but an arguable better beers is staring right at them. Also full disclosure, after I wrote the above I checked out Capones FB page and they posted a PW Beer called Logan Carre' with just one case pictured. Sadly I decided I'm going to pick it up because I'm from Logan Square and like Longman and Eagles, even before reading the description. So I guess even self righteous people having a slow day at work can also give in to clever advertising.

Is Hello the non-BA version of As You Wish...? If so very excited. Hope that means another batch of As You Wish... will be coming at some point.

I doubt As You Wish will be made again. From what I recall it was made in the honor of a friend of the brewery that had passed away.

Ive had hundreds of barrel aged stouts and velvet merkin ranks in the bottom 10%. It's horribly thin and low on flavor. If you drink any other barrel aged stout before it you would swear its brown water.

Also, I'm not understanding you saying both oatmeal stouts has anything to do with it. Guginol is 13%, merkin is 8.5%. That is a damn big difference between any beers, regardless of style. The only thing oatmeal stout means is that a portion of the gran bill contains oats, and it's usually a pretty small portion, since oats are pretty expensive and really don't do much except add some mouthfeel.

From what I understood it was for one of the people who bought the kickstarter reward where you get to collab with PW. The beer was in his memory though.

and flavor when done properly... =p (or maybe oats accentuate other flavors in the beer through added body)

TTB mandated government front of label jargon... same reason every label has to say either Ale or Lager (or one of the accepted styles such as IPA, Stout, Porter, Pilsner, etc.) and same reason we just say spices instead of listing every single spice on the front of the label. The side copy usually details what the natural flavors and spices are.

Yea we aren't fond of putting that on the label either.

I don't think anyone is 100% right here...

It's not fair to make blanket statements. Let's say at 50% of stores it sold out in 10 minutes and 50% of stores it is still on the shelf a month later... so who's correct? neither and both...

So if you shop at 10 of the stores where it was sold out in 10 minutes you would be correct in saying you've never seen it on the shelf. And if you shop at 10 of the stores where it sits on the shelf... then you would also be correct in saying you see it sits on the shelf. But neither are correct in making an absolute statement because it is relative to which type of store you would be referring to. It's like the BCBS thing... seeing all the posts in St. Louis where they have stacks of it... but that doesn't do me any good because in Chicago it is sold out...

But St. Louis is only a 5 hour drive away - where is your commitment to this hobby  If you aren't willing to put in the effort you don't deserve the whalez bro... If there is one lonely bottle lurking on a shelf a week after the release it is clearly a shelf turd not worthy of my next share - I mean, I just couldn't handle all that judgement (although it will be hard to see it through the beards)...

Oh, and while you are in St. Louis can you save me a spot in line for the next perennial release... and send your girlfriend/wife/life partner/mule to stand in line for me over at side project? That's how this works right... right?

If I wanted to try some pipeworks, where is the best place to pick up whatever is currently on shelves? I'm coming through town on Saturday evening for an overnight near wrigley.

If you're not picky, Binny's will always have you covered, as will West Lakeview Liquors. I'm going to take "near Wrigley" literally: Addison and Clark are two of Wrigley Field's cross streets, and straight south on Clark for 3/4 mi. will get you to Binny's, about a mile or two going west on Addison will get you to West Lakeview. Both always have tons of PW stuff in stock (although if you're looking for something hot, your chances aren't great), and are two of my go-to stores.

Whole Foods and Binnys both tend to have a good stock of the 4-pack cans these days. Most of them have at least the last 2 batches out so you can likely find Ninja v Unicorn or Warbird etc... there. Binnys will also have a good stock of the more everyday bombers.

If you're looking for non-BA pipeworks, there's not reason to grow a neckbeard, lose your job and loiter at a liquor store at 9am.

To late I missed out on the pink grapefruit. Must be due to not having the beardneck and backfat.
