No offense at all, but I was definitely referring to @rscot231 comment and not yours haha. Cheers!

Project Alpha 6 is pretty damn good. If you didn't know, now you know.

It's really good but I'm not ready to declare it that good.

I will retract my statement. I drank 3.0 for the first time immediately after a bomber of Double Sunshine, which may have thrown my palate off... had it again tonight and it's definitely solid, up there with the first two.

Big fan of Eric the Red. Had some California buddies over Friday evening, and they couldn't get enough...super crushable beer.

I was gonna say man, cuz 3.0 is tasting mighty fine to me. Different pallets and all but not on par with the first 2??? I think they've refined the recipe and created a really excellent IPA here. Glad you decided to update

His may have come off a different pallet though off of the truck.

Haha, that's totally a pet peeve of mine when people mix these up. Thanks for holding me accountable!

So I finally got my hands on some code name super fan and I must say that it leaves something to be desired. I just picked a sixer up this past Friday assuming that it was the 3.0, but after seeing the pictures of other cans and descriptions of hops used, I believe it's the 1.0 with simcoe, citra, and amarillo. The cans were not dated and the sticker on top of the 6 pack holder was rubbed off but from this discussion I gather that this beer is 1-2 months old tops and there are really no hops present whatsoever. Instead, it has a really saison type quality and reminds a lot of tropic king. It's a let down when your expecting a juicy citrus bomb and instead you get what smells more like freshly shredded carrots. (May sound weird but that's the first thing that came to mind.) Anyway, I'm looking forward to giving it another shot given all the good feedback, just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Pretty hard to miss which version you have...

With that said, if you bought 1.0, or 2.0 for that matter, I would get your hands on fresh 3.0 before passing too strong a judgement. Not an Odd13 fanboy by any means, I just think this is a fantastic beer that all CO IPA lovers should have the pleasure of trying at it's freshest.

    Cheers,
    Dan

How many cans have you tried? I have noticed in 1.0 that there was some variation per can.

3.0 is where it's at though.

Yeah, not having had it before didn't know which version but the number is a dead give away or the lack there of in this case.

I've had three. The first one was good, other two not so much. I agree, I'll have to seek out the 3.0 before making a final decision. I realize it's kind of an r&d sorta thing, was just curious if anyone else had noticed.

You bought the last 6er at Applejacks didn't you? They recently put some 1.0 on the shelf. I did the exact same thing hoping I was getting 3.0 since I saw that it had citra. It isnt a horrible beer but its not great with some age on it sitting unrefrigerated.

Actually got it at liquor max in Loveland and it was refrigerated. Oh well, on to the next one.
