I saw another thread about new brewing licenses in PA and it listed Tuned Up Brewing so I thought I would share some more information considering my brother in law is one of the guys opening the place. If anyone has any questions about the pace, let me know and If I don't know, I'll find out for you.

They will be located in 135 N. Main St in Spring City, PA. If you don't know, that's just outside of Royersford and Pheonixville.

They just signed the lease and started working on the location. They're hoping to have the place up and running within the next month or two. They'll open their doors right away when the place is ready and start selling pints and growlers but no cans or bottles at the time. Only snack food will be available at first so no kitchen or grill.

I'm a homer but their beer is legit. Any questions, let me know!

Here is their Facebook page which they will be updated during the process.

How big (barrel size) is their brewing system? Do the brewer(s) have prior working experience on similar sized systems?

This is basically what I was going to ask. Additionally, what styles will they be focusing on? I'll update the address on my map, thanks.

They will be using a 60 gallon system when they move into this new location. They were previously using a 40 Gallon.

They make a little of everything. The best I've had from them is their Booty Stout and to a lesser extent, the Half Booty which is a lower ABV version. They also recently had a good IPA that they've been tweaking for a while so I would expect to see those two as staples if I had to guess. Last year they made an awesome Pumpkin at something like 10% so I'm hoping they will open with that available. I haven't had it but my brother in law says their Scotch Ale is his favorite of what they make. They've also been experimenting with sours and recently kegged a Flanders/Bruin. Basically, they should have something for everybody.

Wow. Spring City has seen some rough times like most of the river towns. Nonetheless I thought it could be a cool place for a brewery/pub and with the empty storefronts a good opportunity to start up cheap. That looks like the old Main Tavern. Decades ago my brother lived on the second floor. Good luck to them. Phoenixville to Pottstown is becoming quite the beer corridor.

The guys spent most of the long weekend doing demo. The place is pretty dated so I don't know when it was last occupied.

drove by it yesterday, it's been empty for a while. I don't remeber what was in there last, and I've been out here 23 years.

On google maps it looks like the Main but the photo on FB looks like the old Andy's Tavern. When I worked summers at Diamond Glass after midnight shift everyone would go to Andy's at 8 am for beer and cheesesteaks for breakfast. It was likely Schmidt's but could have been Miller's or Shaffer's. Ah, memory lane...

I pass by there all the time. I'll keep an eye out for the opening. Good stuff happening in the NW burbs beer wise especially up near Phoenixville/Royerford/Pottstown.

It's coming along. They have an entire wall that was refinished using old pallets and it looks awesome. The frame of the bar is up, and they're currently fitting it to run the lines. I believe the brew equipment is in place. I think they're shooting for a November opening but it wouldn't surprise me if it was early December. If iI hear anything else, I'll let everyone know.

Just a quick update. The guys are all but ready to open the doors but they're now just waiting on the feds to approve everything. Seems like there are just so many hoops to jump through but it sounds like this is the last one before the doors open and the beer is flowing.

And with French Quarter right up the street and Stickman maybe a mile further up, this could quickly become a hard area to stay sober.

The bar looks nice. Good luck to them, I hope they can be profitable on such a small system.

They also have a 60 gallon system but they're still working out the kinks to scale their recipe's but they will probably start using the 60 gallon in the next couple months.

Doors are open. They haven't "officially" opened yet but they're open while they continue to work on the place and they've had a solid turn out the last few nights. Stop in and check out a new local brewery!

I'm just across the river in Royersford and drive past there a lot. I've known of the place and have been trying see exactly where it was on Main Street but could never find it driving past. It wasn't until this weekend when someone told me the exact location but in driving past it again, I would have never know that it was there or what it was. A little signage would be nice. I'll stop by now that I know where the location is but may have on a whim in the past if I saw a sign.
