Stop the whining! Give a shoutout.

Shout outs are so 2010. Giving props is even worse. So I am giving fist bumps to Clown Shoes. I wrote them in '12 or so complaining of old inventory at Total Wine (every bottle was at least one year old) and asked where I could find some freshies of their beers. The CS rep told me they don't control the inventory at TW (which I understand) but he wanted to send me some fresh beer. He sent me 4 22's and 2 12oz, all non stock type stuff. They had a fan for life at that point.

 

Shout out to Surly Beer Hall and Surly Brewer's Table. We went to the Brewer's Table last summer and the Beer Hall on 12/31/15. Outstanding beer, food, service and environment. I think my tip on New Years Eve was pushing 30%. I also got socks for my 13 year old son and winter hat for my 11 year old daughter in the gift shop. They were thrilled and eveyone had such a great time.

 

Shout out to the boys at Sketchbook brewing in Evanston.
It is a tiny place, but they make interesting beers and they are the nicest guys. Wandered in one day with a buddy to get a growler fill, and they wouldn't have known me from Adam, but they still gave us both a taste of the BA Ten Fidy stovepipe one of them had been sent. True beer geeks in the best possible sense of the phrase.

 

I have contacted 2 breweries with complaints and BOTH of them really knocked it out of the park with their customer service. One is Upslope, they are great folks there and I will continue to support them.
2nd is Dry Dock, I had a potential issue and they rushed to more than fix the situation without even knowing if there was a problem. Kudos to them.
I recently got some great service at the Great Divide Barrel Bar and Funkwerks. I've also had some great communications with Left Hand, Big Sky, and Fremont.

Guys, if you love a beer or you love a brewery, take a couple minutes to send them an e-mail to tell them how much you appreciate their hard work. It won't go unnoticed or unappreciated!

Shout out to Surly 18 months ago we had Flat Abrasive and some sour (infected) Anniversary 8 brew, Surly acknowledge this and asked folks to contact them with there story . I did and was contacted quickly , they sent me a gift card and a hoodie , i was overwhelmed by the speed and the service they displayed , was always a fan/customer but am even more so now. This is superior customer service.

 

Yes, great place. Was there in October, all the options were great, and the set up is pretty cool.

Shout out to Foundation in Portland, Maine....All of their beers I have tried have been great, releases always smooth, great people working in the tap room!

 

Shout out to Heritage Brewing in Manassas, VA.
They go out of their way to employ returning war vets & are dedicated to creating opportunities for members of our Armed Forces once they get back to civilian life.
Oh, right & they brew great beer!

 

Shout out to Southbound, Coastal Empire, and Service. Things keep getting better and better!

 

A general shoutout to the breweries, distributors, lawmakers and everyone else responsible for loosening things up just a bit here in Texas. I'm finding more great beer (in-state, out-of-state and imports) at more places more often.

A specific shoutout to Jester King, who encourages everybody to do everything all the time here in our Texas craft beer world while they concentrate on the wonderful little thing they're doing. We are blessed to have them.

 

Congratulations to Foothills in Winston-Salem N.C. for quietly distributing a fine stable of brews and for simply being a good group of folks. Draft Jade is wonderful. Fun brew pub to boot.

@Sixpoint deserves much praise. An extremely active member on BA and always willing to take the time to provide knowledge, information, and general insight to everyones questions. I know a lot of brewers have BA accounts but Sixpoint (to me), has always been very helpful and professional all the time.

Yes, top rate IPA in my opinion. Would love to have it as a fridge staple. Had Tropicaliente when I was there too!
