My wife will be in Manhattan for work in a couple of weeks and she'd like to track down some Grimm bottles or cans to bring home. Is there anywhere in or near Chelsea where she'd be likely to find something?

Nothing is left at the moment, although it sounds like Super Spruce bottles will be released in a week or so. Best bet in Chelsea is Whole Foods, although that has gone downhill lately. Milk & Hops on 9th should be open in a few weeks (fingers crossed), and if she wants to head south of Chelsea to the West Village Carmine Street Beers and Murray's Cheese get Grimm. No cans are being released until February.

Yep, what @berto714 said. Best bet is to keep an eye on this thread when she gets closer to visiting, we're usually pretty good about posting what's happening with Grimm

Yea I'm not sure I would have known if I didn't live a flew blocks away. Sadly, my lease is up at the end of February and I'll be moving just after it opens. It looks much larger than their other location.

What's the issue with milk & hops? I went there on monday and they were closed for a holiday party but I was assuming this was a one day thing.

What location are you talking about? The Chelsea one on 9th Avenue is supposed to open mid-January per their Facebook page. If you're talking about the Broadway location I'm guessing that was a one-day thing.

Oh shit. I didn't realize they were opening another location. I assumed you meant 9th St and not 9th Ave. That's great news!

They're back open today, I was in there earlier. Psyched to hear about the Chelsea location, also had no idea!

I had seen another poster mention they had Finback BA BQE on tap so I was there with 32oz growler in hand and was slightly crushed when I saw they were closed. So, I made the best of things and went to WF Union Square and cried myself to sleep with a fill of BCBBW. Funny thing is they updated their beermenus page and it's not on there, maybe it was for their party?

They do still have it on tap (or did as of around 1 this afternoon). I didn't ask if they were selling growlers of it though.

I really want to try these guys but live in Jersey. I'm guessing it never gets distributed here? But I'm in the city once in a while for Liverpool games at 11th Street Bar (11th and A) and saw someone mentioned a store carries Grimm in the (West) Village. Does that store carry it pretty regularly? Or does it tend to sell out quickly after hitting the shelves? Anywhere good stores in the East Village? Or places that would fill growlers (of Grimm or other really good City only beers as far as a Jersey guy is concerned)? I gotta start making the most of my trips in

Unfortunately, no stores carry Grimm regularly in the sense that you'll be able to walk in and get the beer. Grimm cans last a matter of hours when they hit stores; bottles might last a few days depending on what it is. Your best bet is monitoring this thread and hoping that a Grimm release coincides with your trip to the city, and you might get lucky.

As for the place I mentioned in the West Village that gets Grimm, Carmine Street Beer, it actually doesn't usually get a large amount (1 can limit on recent can releases). In the East Village you have Milk & Hops, Good Beer, and ABC Beer Co. which all get Grimm. Top Hops, which is just south of the East Village in the Lower East Side, also gets a lot of Grimm. These places do growler fills sometimes as well, which tend to last slightly longer than the cans and bottles.

Honestly, your best bet is probably trying to set up an in-person trade while you're in the city. If you come soon after a release you'll definitely get some takers.

Where in Jersey? If your up north, you can try at places just over the border, like Cable Beverages and Growler & Gill. But like NYC, they go fast! Some places get it on tap as well up around there.

I've had luck in Brooklyn grabbing some while visiting Other Half. But you just have to pay attention to this thread for releases.

Cool, thanks so much for the info. I'm at the Jersey Shore so it would be just as easy to go into the city as it would be to hope the border

Will the instagram account be updated for all dropoff location for Lumen and Super Spruce like it was for the Pulse Wave release? Super pumped for both of these!

It's a crapshoot finding Grimm, even if you're here every day. You may be able to get a taste at Coopers or Proletariat at some point though, check out their beermenus next time you're heading to 11th Street (an old favorite, btw).
