Sorry, I was reading through this too quick & didn't see "variants" (unless it was edited). I only saw straight up Abyss on the shelf. I've never seen or heard of any variants being sent down to these parts though.

Yeah, it didn't help that I called my local Bevmo and they looked up on the computer and said that Costa Mesa had. :astonished:

Cognac Abyss just hit Hacienda Beverage. Also heard that rye isn't going into distro.

Anyone know if the cognac abyss is supposed to be for sale at total wines?

It's listed in their inventory online ($24.99) but it doesn't look like any stores have gotten it yet. I'd guess within the next couple of days since Hacienda just got their allotment.

Looks like fresh batch of City of the Sun packs should be hitting our area soon as well.

Eh, I kind of liked how much of it was a lack of cluster fuckery. It took about 10 minutes to squash the line and the bottle was around until, what? 4ish? That's a nice steady pace of selling.

I can see only bigger and bigger shit storms in their future and selling out faster with a much larger and unmanageable line (as they tried to balance tasting pours and bottle sales) now that it's moved to a weekend.

Probably a better option to please those with regular 9-5 hours is to release it on a weekday with a later release time that is a balance between the two.

Having it on the weekend just means this next release will have a line queued up 5x as longer (and they were surprised at the 30 folks or so who showed up at this one) and it's just going to be... eh..not so good.

Because if it's online, then they'll be using their merchandise website and, well, I'm not sure if their IT guy can handle that amount of essentially DDoS attack at once. The last online bottle sale took place at midnight.

There was around 300 bottles or so of this, 3 limit. Yeah, that would go fast online. I thought this one went well and aside from the compliant that normal work hour folks couldn't partake, moving it to the weekend sounds like an even worse idea

I don't get it either.... Why are people lining up for Phantom Carriage beers?

Chino Hills BevMo has a ton of Modern Times Devils' Teeth if you are looking... Stacked up in back by the tasting area.

All the time! It doesn't allow "locals who have been there since the beginning a fair shot at getting beer!"

There is going to be complaining regardless.

I mean, it's the only real time all the locals of Alpine gather as a community to stand in line for Great or Expo.
