But you understood the point he was making so does it matter if it is not the BEST analogy?

Is it the best analogy? Probably not.
Is it pretty much exactly the way the product was rolled out to the relevant retail locations in this situation? Seems like it.

I waited in line overnight with my brother in law and sold my spot for $200 to someone who decided to show up an hour before opening. Oh and i had no intention of buying it as I was in high school at the time and didnt have the money for it. I was just there to keep my brother in law company.

one recommendation i have for avoiding more flack from this is mabye don't keep announcing the bottle sales on instagram (like sour jim did recently). it sort of adds insult to injury, and isn't exactly "quietly putting them on shelves" per option 3. you're sort of asking for it by doing that.

have to say, for only having a "few cases" left, it's amazing that bottles are still being sold months later

I guess I'm being pedantic, but it's also not a strong argument if he's trying to persuade someone.

Thankfully there isn't a phishconcertposterprintadvocate.com, at least none that I know of.

100% agree but sadly that is his account and I have no control over that. You will note that Parabajava has never since been posted on the FW or Barrelworks page.

    Here's an analogy for you:
Somebody drives 4-5 hours from Paso Robles to Bottle Logic because they want a bottle of Fundamental Observation upon release. They get there later than they should have and by the time they get to the register, the bottles that were onsite and available for sale that day are all gone. There simply aren't any more. Those people are bummed out because they didn't get any. That sucks, but alas, it's pretty much on them.

Are there still some out in the wild pending sale? Yes there are; they are being held back to fulfill delivery commitments to retailers. By the time the bottles make it out to the local retailers, the people from Paso are gone and can't buy bottles. Butthurt ensues.

I already did. Conveniently had a Lunch Meeting collab at C&C while on lunch. Also had a quick taster of their Debut IPA that was kegged a couple days ago. Things at 7.6% should not drink as easily as water. It was damn tasty.

According to South Park you must wait 22.3yrs for something to become funny that was once considered a tragedy.

I mean, it was the day after thanksgiving and I'm sure the folks who could have had the power to come up with a solution were relaxing at home on vacation, but perhaps the better option on the day of would have been to take down names/numbers/email information of those who were screwed out of bottles because they weren't prepared with more stock shipped to Barrelworks. And give those who were there the option via a phone call/email that they got the bottles in from Paso and if they wanted to come to Barrelworks to buy it, they'll have one with their name on it.

Have a short window of picking up/purchase of those and then just do what they are doing now.

But again, that's hindsight. I don't think that instigating (both parties) a back and forth feud on BA will help solve anything, and while I think JJ does complain a lot, I would say it's highly unprofessional for a company employee to 'start some beef' like that.

I think JJ and Jemma will have a beer this Sunday and realize they both want the same thing, each other! No really though, both are passionate about the beer and when mistakes happen it's OK for someone to point it out and great if the brewery at least acknowledges their error and can learn from it. It doesn't have to be taken personally. The next time this beer is released unless it's done online or they add a few POS systems I don't see it being much different. The only people that should complain is the ones that choose to go Saturday since they were told there would be some held back for then. Apparently they did hold back enough for the Saturday people even if this was by accident.

    Constructive criticism is his intention.
    Selling the bottles on eventbrite.
Preselling the bottles in line before doors opened.
    Buying more POS systems
Handing out wristbands/tickets and letting people come back later like bottle logic/blendery did recently
Some way of scanning the ID/drivers license # so you don't get Statler'd again
There's lots of things that can be done differently to improve the experience.

Shit, if it were I in the position of customer service, I would realize that while the steps to correct all those who were "wronged" on a release that the company clearly underestimated the turn out, I could take the steps to bite the bullet and reach out to those squeaky wheels who were on the short end of the stick of that line and instead of saying "talk tough to me in person instead of behind a monitor", the better course would be to privately pm the dude and say "Hey, sorry you didn't get 4 bottle limit that day, if you'll be at Libertine this weekend, I'll bring you one bottle on the house for the trouble. Keep this on the D/L." That'll shut him up a lot better.

For the future. I remember back at the first feral one release when workers came out a good hour/half hour before the event and just had everyone swipe their payment (no cash accepted) and that made the line go super fast. Again, I realize that the decision makers weren't there that day or no quick last minute thinking resulted in steering the ship from the rocks, but again, we could talk till we're blue in the face on how to correct things everyone is painfully aware that went wrong.

In attempt to ease the severe butthurt around here...

Opened up one of those Phantom Carriage Broadacres w/ Peach+Nectarine tonight. Flavor is really really good but very little carb. Could be a less than prime bottle but considering these were bottled in Nov I dunno if waiting on them will solve it. I don't mind low carb so in my book this is a really nice (and light) weeknight beer. If the next batch carbs up a bit more I'll be all over it.

Oops... sorry, lots of people missed this one due to Tuesday Noon release. Continue the butthurt

I waited in line with my friend in the freezing ass cold for a PS2, when we got it home and wanted to play Timesplitters, the system wouldn't boot - it was defective.

    That's hard when you're 18 man...
