'Bout Damn Time: pretty hazy, nose doesn't give too much away but the taste is definitely juicy and fruity (and delicious). I won't write a full review in here but suffice it to say I think it's worth a trip. No plans to can anytime soon so you gotta make it to Broomfied to get it.

I grabbed a growler of Congress Street IPA at Trillium yesterday and I can safely say that there is nothing in Colorado that approaches this style of IPA. Now I understand why New England IPA is the hot new thing.

Just cracked a 5.0. This IPA is the truth. Really great stuff.

@ arrogantb just a few months ago you were so into west coast ipa and nothing in Colorado could compare to it. Now it's NE style? Do you want Colorado breweries to nail west coast ipa style and NE style ipas??come on dude. Colorado breweries are killing it right now.

I still don't think the best Colorado has to offer compares to the best of the West Coast or the NE has to offer, but we are killing it!

Of course not. My point is people want us to be best of west coast ipa and NE style? Even though we don't fall into either catergory? ?? Name a west coast ipa that is so much better than super power??

I've been into West Coast IPA's for ten years now, that doesn't change just because I'm spending my weekend filling growlers at Hill Farmstead and Trillium. I've praised plenty of Colorado IPA's like Superpower, Hop Chops, Juicy Banger, Project Alpha #4, and I think Odell IPA is highly underrated. My point wasn't that New England is better but that it is a distinctive style (just like San Diego/West Coast) and I haven't tasted anything like it in Colorado.

This is the second time this week you've called me out, you are really doing the most right now. I'm gonna toss you a bottle of Scaled Up when I get back, turn that frown upside down.

    New Belgium Super IPA

Which really makes me wonder why Green Flash can't seem to nail Alpine beers.

I had it. Kept the bottle cause it was cool looking. But no way was it way better than super power. Plus that was a collaboration with a colorado brewery. Name 1 west coast ipa that could kill super power or juicy banger??

As I've been lucky enough to have Congress Street on tap and in bottles as well as a few other Trillium beers and a lot of Tree House I tend to agree with this statement BUT I must say, if there was a beer that could rival it it would be Superfan 5.0. It has all the characteristics just maybe not as finely tuned. Definitely a fruit bomb in the "NE" sense of the style and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's the first in CO to take on this challenge and have it be successful, thank god! I hope more breweries follow suit as that style is fantastic!

Side note (and I know @tylerstravis has disagreed with me on this before) but I think Superpower is better than Pliny! So score one for CO IMHO!

I can name five Comrade beers I like better than Superpower, but that's not what you're asking for

Here are five I personally like better:
    Hop Venom Double IPA
    Nelson
    RPM IPA
    Breakside IPA
    Pallet Jack

    Also @Mike1512, I'm not a big Pliny fan

How much longer do I have to wait for the Orange Juice to turn into hop juice?

When PtE, PtY and Superpower were on tap together at Falling Rock, the contrasts were few but the comparisons were many. If the Plinys...Plinees...Plinies..Plinyses... are the best West Coast IPAs, then SP is darn-tootin close. The NE styles just aren't my thing...I think I can feel the yeast and trub.

I could have sworn you disagreed with me on the Superpower vs. Pliny comparison a while back but I'm probably wrong.

But will most definitely agree with you on the Boneyard beers! Love those mentions as well as the Notorious!

    Alesmith IPA.

If you've been to the Pizza Ports, been to the Toronados, been to Hamilton's, been to O'Briens and you think Superpower and Juicy Banger are better than what the west coast has to offer, more power to you. Enjoy the front range brother.
