    times this 1000000!

The NYC beer scene is so good right now. Grimm is brewing great beer locally as are Other Half and SingleCut. We get Hill Farmstead and MBC on the regular. Captains Daughter and Pipeworks arrives in cans.

In regards to stout we're also in a great spot. Evil Twin does great stouts, the Grimm stouts have been awesome, Other Half has a full range of stouts, SingleCut Eric on Rum is out, and there are tons of other distro options.

And in regard to wild ales, well, we're coming along! Grimm, OH, and SingleCut all crank out differently delicious wild beers as we're getting great beers on the shelf.

    Go NYC beer options!

Was at Sea Witch Tuesday night drinking Lumen, Harlan, and don't forget Kent Fall's Sweatpants. It's a great time to love beer in this city.

I would throw the fairly new development/distro of Tired Hands in that mix as well

HopHands kegs have been all over the city over the past month or so. Have also seen some other kegs, and a few bars had Tired Hands tap takeovers within the past month.

Seasons of Perception made an appearance in NYC not to long ago as well. Anyways, didn't mean to high-jack the thread...back to GRIMM

Picked up another bottle of Super Spruce. Really dig it. Such a unique take.

Beer Table at Grand Central is the biggest ripoff. Only a meager $51 for a growler of Lumen. And when they had the Cloudbusting they were selling it for $9 a can. @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales you guy shouldn't do business with these clowns.

This is an oft-repeated complaint. You can't think of Beer Table as a bottle shop. It makes a lot more sense if you think of it as a bar for the commuter crowd.

agreed, they do have a high markup, but it is like a bar and they are certainly open about it... once and i will i will grab something there (the pints to go are sometimes a not bad deal) due to convenience, for bottles and cans you will certainly pay a premium, but that is the nature of their store and location of the store front.

except they sell room temperature bottles. what good does it do a commuter to buy a warm bottle of Peche 'n Brett for $45? they're still not able to drink it on the train.

Here we go again. Crazy high rent = crazy high prices. Same reason Hudson News sells bottles of water for like $3

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna crush a $51 growler on the train. Thats what everyone does at bars, right? Buys a growler and drinks it there.

While it is understood their COGS (cost of goods sold) is much higher than traditional shops, they do inflate their prices even more on harder to get bottles/drafts. I've gotten 32oz fills of very good locals (many OH limited, Barrier Money, PV Amazeballs, etc) at Beer PT for a somewhat palatable price, but I was shocked at the price of the Lumen. Had I not been an idiot and actually glanced at the price I would have passed. I just don't feel the Grimm kegs cost 50% more than the other comparable kegs, but could be wrong. Is Lumen good? Yes. 50% better than a comparable option? No.

As long as beer geeks continue to hyperventilate for every new beer release, the breweries and retailers are going to push the limits on prices.
