I think I under sold Bout damn time. Had a pint yesterday and had my growler filled. Really liked it. Poured a pint tonight from my growler. Then was like I'm going to have a 5.0 next which I love. Now having a Bout damn time again,it's solid. Thought the 5.0 was going to smoke it, but it didn't. 2 very solid colorado ipas. Well done. ...

Right now my top 3 fave colorado ipas would be

    1. Juicy Banger (love the name also)
    2 . Superpower
    3. Codename superfan 5.0

These are regular ipas. Any other opinions?

Kettle hops, fermentation, etc for 5.0, 5.0.1, and 5.0.2 are identical.

5.0.1 we are upping CO2 from 2.2 volumes to 2.5 volumes to help the aromatics pop. Otherwise identical to 5.0.

5.0.2 we are staying at 2.5 volumes and upping the total dry hop, but keeping the ratio of each hop the same.

Both are in the tanks now. They are canning within 4-5 days of each other. Should make for a good side by side. They will be distinguishable only by the date code on the supermarket style sticker on the top of the six pack holder (our canning line doesn't do on-can date coding yet). I'll post date codes once I know for sure what day they can.

And for information overload: they are also the last 2 batches that will come out of our tap room location. We will be up and brewing at our production facility next week. Look for a one-off high-ABV pale ale/low-ABV IPA in early February. Should be fun.

Is that Sleeping Giant? Some great beers being produced out of there. No complaints at all.

Haha no. Given some of the things we do with sours, I doubt they'd even let us look around. We want 1000% control too.

Looks like you're ISOing for some Trillium / Tree House hops? Felt the need to compare, eh?

The beer is named after the affection my head taproom brewer has for east coast IPAs. He's had some of them and suggested it to me. I have no idea whether he's had TH or trillium. We formulated this beer based on our hop contracts and a rough idea of process. Hopefully the progression of flavors from batch to batch expresses what we know about our craft.

Wow, that's interesting. I had a 4.0 tonight, and thought the carbonation was on the low side. Is that an attempt to get a 'soft, pillowy' mouth-feel? All the New England fanboys rave about the mouth-feel of those IPA's.

Do you have your own production facility? Inquiring minds, etc...

Yes. We just passed final inspection yesterday and should be brewing there next week. Very exciting for us.

Hey guys, long time listener, first time caller! FWIW, most of my affection/inspiration for Superfan is Vermont rather than Massachusetts in origin, although I've loved my experiences with Trillium and haven't yet had the pleasure of sampling any beers from Treehouse (hopefully that can be remedied next time I visit my family back east). Even with the polarizing response that hops like Mosaic and Equinox seem to elicit, beers like Pipeworks' Lizard King also hold a special place in my heart. At the end of the day, we aren't trying to replicate any of these OG and second wave examples of "NE Style Pales/IPAs", moreover select the aspects we love while making beer that is our own (ehhh, sounds cliche, but hopefully you get my drift).

Flying into Denver in 10 days, hopping to get my hands on some Superfan cans while I'm there.
