Anyone seen Pineapple Sculpin in OC yet? Amazing Grapes in RSM posted "just in" and when I went they said they're saving the bottles for a special event this afternoon...

Why the fuck would they post that and then not sell them you show up? That's asinine.

No clue..I'm done with them. It's not like they psoted, "come in for our special event tonight".. Just a pic of the 3 new beers from Ballast Point and , " Just in!"

I called them out on it. So stupid.

Isn't that supposed to be added to the year round list? They are intentionally being dicks and trying to hype it up. Also... it is an IPA for fucks sake and best consumed fresh. So sick of these stupid business owners that care little about their customer base and less about beer.

Missed part of the post that said they were saving it for a special event that afternoon, so the freshness argument isn't valid. Still, the bait and switch nature of the beer scene these days is a joke. So happy to have HS and LoPGaEP memberships

I spent the day in DTLA and took the opportunity to try Mumford as well as Arts District.

I really dug what they were serving at Mumford, all around solid beers and their Koala Food had a lot going for it.

Arts District...not so much. The beers were pretty cromulent but you're really there for the atmosphere what with the skee-ball machines, dart boards and foosball table. At least it's in a pretty hip part of town, the Pie Hole place down the street was fan-freaking-tastic.

I guess it depends on personal taste with these - I think they both have their respective places... I found the atmosphere at Mumford to be nice, but the beers pretty average. Whereas, I thought Arts Districts beers were solid, albeit unspectacular, overall with the Traction being particularly nice; and their guest taps were beyond decent (Feral One, Avery Raspberry Sour, etc).

Regardless.... they are both a step up from Angel Sh*tty.

    "Pretty cromulent?"

Sure, go ahead and embiggen their status...

Cromulent? This is honestly one the last words I ever expected to read on BA. Well done.

Ate lunch at Slater's 50/50 in HB and they had Pugachev's Cobra, Hawaiian Speedway and Backwoods Bastard on tap.

Slater's does a good job with their beer program but those prices are steep - $15 for Pugachev's, $13 for Hawaiian Speedway and $11 for Backwoods.

i wasn't crazy about the atmosphere at Arts District Brewing. maybe i'd like it better in the daytime with some natural light coming in. it felt too big and industrial. will go back and check in on their beers again. liked one of their IPAs (can't remember which one)

Yep, way too high but you can get a flight of 4 beers for $10 and they don't charge extra for those beers. They're flights are a good deal IMO if there are that many good beers on.
