Just picked up two sixers from the nova.....they have great flavor.....marked the same as the other guy posted. Found a few other gems in the HUD.

They do this for a lot of their "limited" releases and it really pisses me off.

I don't really understand the logic of having things behind the counter. Saving stuff for the "regulars"? How do you continue to build a customer base if you treat a certain group of you customers as special and alienate others?

Also nobody is going to spend that money on a beer they don't really want just because it's been cellared.

And while I'm rambling...their attitude of being Thor's gift to the local craft beer community is getting old. I used to go in there a couple times a month to see if they had anything on my list. If they didn't I would leave empty handed and I got dirty looks nearly every time. Maybe if I had asked them and let them scan my retina or fingerprint me I would've been able to pick up a few more bottles.

I know this has been asked a few times now, but have we seen any Abrasive with a January canning date yet?

    I still haven't seen it, & I've been looking.

And I love the Ale Jail. There are plenty of places that leave extremely limited stuff behind the counter, plenty of places that 'cellar' beer. I've never had anything but great experiences there. If it was a touch closer to my house it would be my go-to store.

Beginning to think it's just a myth made up by Surly to get us to drink all the November stuff.

The whining going on here about Ale Jail is unfounded and practically comical. While they may keep stuff behind the counter occasionally, it's still in plain view and RJ is a great dude who will sell it to you, just ask him.

Also, just to be relevant, Evil Twin Bozo Beer and Big Ass Money Stout will be at Ale Jail on Friday, as well as Omnipollo Yellow Belly (behind the counter ) and Milkshake IPA. There might also be some Dino Smores. Happy hunting!

    $20 for Tweak? seems excessive

Never been to the store, but all this talk got me to check out their web site. Jeez, does it suck. It's like an early 90's PC video game. And, to make it worse, it tells you nothing! (Or, if it does, I did not have the patience to wade through all the flash animation to get there...)

The November can date stuff still tastes good, and can be found for much cheaper than you would expect if you know where to look.

It is, though not as bad as some of the others. I believe mine were $15.99, though I bought them in Colorado.

I don't have a problem with Ale Jail having bottles behind the counter. I have an issue with Ale Jail not selling bottles they have on hand and those that are specifically asked for; which they do frequently. Also they had a line of 30-40 people on black Friday waiting 30 to 60 minutes for BCBS and they sold a few bottles to the first 3-5 people in line. I won't be back but it won't have any impact one way or another for them.
