Sounds like a tasty combination. 2 of my favorite hops.

Drinking 4 Noses Bout Damn Time. Damn good west coast IPA. Love it. Maybe a little more citrus to be perfect but hardly complaining.

    Love these guys!

So, we brewed for the first time at our new production facility today. We brewed a one-off IPA to dial in the efficiency, and to understand how the process from our original brewery affects haze etc on the new system. The beer is not Codename, but it incorporates some things we've learned from Codename. I've edited this label at least once already today, given what we've learned about the system. This should be hitting shelves around the 10th of February.

It's good, a really solid, delicious DIPA... just as good as the second batch last year....

...but damn, I still feel like there was something different (better) about the first OG batch they released....

I hear what you're saying! I was really impressed with the first batch they brewed...great smell and flavor...had a similar flavor profile to Pliny the Younger. When I had the second batch last year I remember thinking it tasted very different than the first batch.

I think the current batch is lacking in rarity. That first batch had it in spades.

The placebo effect is strong in the beer community.

Have you had this year's Placebo though? It's a little thin on the mouth feel.

I haven't. Just speaking in generalities. I think palates change more than beers. Those yearly "Celebration/Pumking/Pliny/etc. isn't as good this year!" threads have made me a perma-skeptic.

@dauss - was Hop Chops changed in any significant way?
