I don't think they have started brewing yet. They replied to someone on their Facebook page on January 18th that they were hoping to start brewing in the next few weeks. There is no way they brewed a beer and already turned it around. They will probably have homebrew this weekend.

I wonder if Angry Inch is deciding to bring home brew to a beer festival and serve it? With the ever changing an hyper competitive environment, offering home brew to consumers as representative of your commercial efforts would make me question their understanding of things. I almost feel bad for them, having a better funded brewery opening up in the building next to them. That's gotta hurt cash flow. I really hope they are patient and wait to serve when they are ready.

I doubt it would be a hard decision for them. The risk of sampling beer that would potentially taste different than the final product is easily outweighed by the marketing opportunity. I'm guessing a brewery whose logo features a penis will not attract local suburbanites the way a family-friendly brewpub would. The Winter Beer Dabbler is one of the largest beer events in the Twin Cities and an opportunity to convince people outside of Lakeville to come buy their beer. The most reviewed beers on Untappd for any middle-of-nowhere brewery are always the ones they brought to a festival in the Twin Cities.

You had me at logo featuring a penis. An I the only one that will avoid a brewery because I am turned off by their juvenile marketing ploys

I will, but it will be because it tells me they are more frat boys on a lark than serious about their beer. I have yet to have a beer from Big Wood for exactly that same reason.

Sorry - missed this. When we ordered our beers, the server asked if we knew "they are still the first batches, you know that, right?" When we said yes, she more or less said, "ok, your sure then?"....didn't register at first, but once we got the beers we knew she was trying to warn us.

With how family friendly the majority of breweries are these days it's like they didn't plan this out at all. I definitely wonder if people that open breweries these days just surround themselves with "yes men" that tell them every idea is great. Does no one have a friend or business partner that goes.. "Umm, maybe you want to be more welcoming to kids?" or "The IPA is ok, but it's really sharply bitter.."

To me it shows a lot about how serious a place wants to be taken when they can't manage to have a professional label, professional staff, a taproom with nice ambiance, and of course, a proper name devoid of phallic references.

I wasn't familiar with what "angry inch" meant, so of course I googled it. I'm severely confused.... did a brewery really just purposely name themselves after a play that involves a cut off penis? Is that a cut off penis in their logo? Seriously.... Seriously??!

    All I ask is, WHY?

As I look I cannot help to notice the "I"...it certainly looks like the World Beer Cup logo. And the AB looks like another AB we all know and love. Sorry for the large logos, but it is what it is. If I seem to remember, the name of the brewery is suppose to have some literary reference. As for the names of the beers, they are a bit childish, reminds me of this brewery in SoDak...

I just read through sick n twisted's beer names and descriptions. I'm speechless...

I just imagine myself at a nice restaurant or bar reading the tap list and seeing "creamy wet spot" on tap... "yes' um excuse bartender, I'll have a "creamy wet spot" please?"

    Like?, just, I ..... uh.

They describe every single one of their beers as a good pairing with bologna. I think I need to make a pilgrimage to the Black Hills.

If their beer is good, then I couldn't care less what the name is. And not every place needs to be "kid friendly" does it? Those things are annoying the way it is already.

I couldn't agree more on the kid friendly aspect. I was just at a taproom this past Sunday, got one beer and had to listen to a kid scream and cry at the table next to me through the entire thing. Quite annoying. For a minute I thought I was at Chuck E. Cheese's.

I agree about the kid friendly thing, that is not what concerns me at all. It is the piss poor marketing skills some of these breweries have... I'm talking about this purely from the perspective of a consumer (which I am) and I for one will not be consuming any "creamy wet spot" regardless how good it the actual beer is.... ever.
