I didn't realize anyone on this thread enjoyed Trillium or Tree House...Maybe these guys from Braddock are onto something??

Love Trillium. Much less enthusiastic about Tree House. But yeah, I'd say BG has a similar profile. Not prepared to say anything more just yet...but they are doing some good things.

Second the advice of @chefduff2 about not going by IBUs to project if you'll enjoy something, and to try some single hop beers to ferret out your particular tastes--in addition to BG, Flying Dog does them as well and is fairly accessible locally (Mikkeller too, but $$$). There's a bunch: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/single-hop-beers-list.99112/

As far as rating something you just don't like. I usually don't--especially if it's in a category I'm not very familiar with, until I've an opportunity to revisit the beer down the road with more context, at which point I'm able to compare it to others in the style and rate it based on that.

It's a great American Strong Ale. As long as I think that going in I really enjoy it.

I think its called Gran Met. There's nothing Grand about it, or so I've heard from this thread.

Anyone here interested in some Wicked Weed French Toast cans? Got some extra, message me and we can meet up around town this weekend.

NYC chump here invading your thread. Any other chump who wants to trade me some BG, PM me. Just had it for the first time this week, and agree the flavor profile is very similar to TH. Braddock was solid, but the CPA was fantastic. I think it was better than TH Lights On and right there with Hill Farmstead's Citra. Still have Mammoth to try tomorrow.

    for you grizzled veterans..

need a couple local things to fill a box (that I won't be laughed at for), looking at the voodoo offerings, like BBVD, Wynona'a, etc.

VE has several of their offerings.

Any others I should look at? (box includes Jackie O's BA's, so I don't want to include a real dud)

No, I think it's because all of the NE Hop Heads (Treehouse, etc) are all asking for Stouts and Whalezbro for their ipa's

Anyone make it to Pig Iron yet? Going there for dinner tonight and they seem to have a good lineup.

Don't take CANything I say here seriously my man.

Might be the half-dozen tequila old fashioned's I had at Tako last night, but I don't think Proto 12 is boozy at all for a 10.5% beer.

Good lineup, great prices, mediocre food, iffy service.

New beer at Roundabout. Here Today, Gone Tamale - light ale with serrano, habanero, ancho and chile de arbol.
