Got crushed with our first winter storm today with a full 2 inches. So I'm celebrating with this terrific IPA and watching the New Hampshire primary returns. Yup, I'm a political junkie.

It's been over ten years since I last set foot in The Land of the Morning Calm. I'd have killed for Sam Adams Boston Lager during my time in country.

Good evening! Long, long day at work, and I'm dead tired. Not too tired for one of my favorite, go-to fridge beers, though:

No matter how many breweries IPAs i taste that i feel have "caught up" to HFs quality and style, i always come back to them and revel how clean and delicate these beers are...such craftsmanship
Side note: not sure which is better, Double Galaxy or Citra

The first beer I've tried from this newer nano brewery that is closed to the public. Billed as "Neither American nor British, this interpretation of a pale ale is malt forward like a British ale with American Cascade hops. Brewed with pale, crystal, and a smidge of chocolate malt, the result is of a complexity unusual for either an American or British Ale. APV in is 5.0%, IBUs are 23."
This must be a different batch since it's clearly marked at 6.0% abv. It's solid, but nothing to write home about.

Pre and post dinner beers, the latter and one on the right I am having now. The Old Man's first sip seemed long in the tooth, but all other sips while cooking dinner seemed fine. Seemed like a light American barley wine (hoppy but not too much, with sweet fruit maltiness).

The Ballast Point Homework Series #6 almost cost as much for a bomber as one of their Sculpins from the six-pack :astonished:. Ok, not quite, but it was decently priced. I've liked BP's porters that I've had so far, and this fits the bill. Nothing outrageous, nice roast and a decent bitterness.

UVa and Caps both play at 8pm tonight, so I'll probably be back with another to try to get us to a 5th page (I Assume we'll get to 4 if not already by the time I hit post.

Great beer! But not worth the hype and price. Maybe it was years ago when it came out.
