Apologies, looks like it is something else. This is the bottlen I saw though. For some reason the guy at ale jail said it was a barley wine.

As of 9pm tonight (Wed), France 44 at 44th and France had 5 cases of CW BBBW and 7 cases of Pseudo Sue (dated 1/29). The beer manager, Bennett, is a super guy and very helpful.

If you want to get a true answer always go into a store and ask. It builds relationships with the store and you will often get put on a list for a bottle.

I talked with a store that has a list of nearly 50 names for Double Black before they found out they are only getting 12 bottles. I asked how they decide who gets a bottle & was told the 12 best customers on the list will have a bottle held for them. It can pay to pick a good local store or two to buy most of your beer from so they know you by name.

I think we all understand this, but I find this extremely obnoxious (& this is certainly not aimed at you!). I'm not 25 anymore with nothing better to do than wander around trying to bond with liquor stores managers. It certainly can 'pay' but if that's the way 'the game' is headed, I'll be glad to drink shelf beers until I shuffle off this mortal coil.

No offense taken! I'm not 25 anymore either & don't have time to bs with store employees but employees will recognize you as a good customer if they see you in their store often. Obviously this doesn't work at a big store like TW.

The 12 best customers? Wonder how they defined that. The 12 guys who dropped the most cash there?

Agreed and many stores don't operate this way and there is no way of knowing before hand. I spent thousands at a local store and was never extended any benefits.

I just go to the same store repeatedly. They don't get large allotments, but they always stash a bottle or two for me in the back. And it's on my way home. Win-win if you ask me.
