    As a homebrewer who buys NS hops and the like, it is the most expensive hop that I purchase. With the Galaxy craze I thought it would be the highest price, but still NS. Also, other side of the world and all.

    Not sure if I'm bringing something up that someone else already has, but I know that Brew Hub uses a centrifuge to filter their beers (maybe not TG beers, however). I would assume this method wouldn't lead to the lack of clarity (haziness), aroma and flavor that no filtering or minimal filtering (or just cold crashing) being done in Decorah that everyone is seeking out.

    latest batch of Nelson to hit KC is about as good as I've had, including from the source.

    anyway. does Des Moines have Pompeii on the shelves yet? Or do I need to just make a roadtrip to the arctic North of Iowa?

    Had some on tap last weekend and wasn't blown away, but have yet to try bombers. I think Light Speed varies more than any other TG beer.

    OG Falcon was the beer that made me flip for TG on my first visit.

    Agree with above as this Light Speed batch was good but not great. Pompeii however is great ... easily put it up there with Sue.

    Agreed! Why the fuck would you age a bottle of Sue for 8 months? :grimacing:

    <flame suit on>

    I was disappointed by my Pompeii last night. I've had probably 4 different "batches" of it, and this is the worst by far. I still have one more, so I'll try it again. It did get better as it warmed up, but was missing the aroma and floral hop presence.

    Yeah, it's too bad that one of my locals left the Zee out on the shelves for months. They still have bottles and some were finally moved to the cooler once it was a bit late IMO.. I know cooler space is at a premium but you can't tell me you can't move out some other "low brow" beers to make room for the good stuff. To keep the good stuff good.

    I'm not touching the old batch. Can't wait for the new ones and that Pompeii. Maybe I'll "rescue" a few bottles as soon as I see them and just store them in my fridge so I don't have to worry about them sitting on shelves, getting old.

    Good IPAs like Zee shouldn't be sitting on shelves :slight_frown:

    I had exactly the same experience in the one (and so far, only) bottle of Pompeii I bought, but that was the 12/3/15 batch I drank about 3 weeks after the bottle date. Mostly pine and resin. Not a bad beer, but not what I was anticipating from the comments here.

    I know Red's has Sue, Bricks has Sue and Dorothy and Parlor City has Sue and Dorothy. Those are the only places I've been to recently.
