The social media blitz that is coming will do more than enough to ensure this is as crazy as anything else - except with an expected price being markedly higher than the first release (given latest GI Clybourn pricing trends) I think the crowds could be kept in check.

 

Oh, are you saying bottles are coming back? And...aged 2 years?

Is the only time they have produced this the 2013 version? Since it's going to be on tap soon, I was wondering if that is the same "original" version.

 

I believe so, yeah. I think they did the variants after that (candy cane and nutulhu), and then in 20...15 (?) released Cthulhu again (not in bottles).

 

OK, so they did kegs & bottles in 2013 and kegs only in 2015? I was just wondering how aged the stuff on tap in a few weeks is going to be. Not that it matters, as I plan on being there regardless.

 

Yeah, they did Cthulhu every Tuesday back in November. I was told they had four kegs remaining and that after November it would be the end of Cthulhu as the new brew master did not want to brew another batch. Well, Cthulhu showed back up around Christmas. It wasn't part of the release for toys, but nevertheless it was there one night. No, I'm not talking about the Candy Cane version. So the question really his how much of this stuff do they have left or did they start brewing it again? My guess, this stuff will be around for years to come and it is being produced again. I'm just hoping they do Nutulhu again at some point.

 

I'm hoping to get a chance to taste it this weekend - never had it.

 

Yeah, me too....just hoping the weather doesn't screw that plan up.

 

It is yummy although when I had it on Black Friday 2014 @ Goose Clybourn it seemed too hot but Nuthulhu was amazing

 

This is not true. They have a little '13 left in kegs that was aged longer than regular cthulhu, but they have not been sitting on 2.5 year old bottles.

 

Cthuhlulululu and Nuthuluhlululu are both good but extremely overrated. Would never wait in a line for a bottle of either.

Nuthulu was really good tonight. It didn't take long at all to kick two kegs. I was hoping for a second glass, but that didn't happen.

Agreed. This was my first time having it, and managed to get two pours. Great stuff.

 

Looks like bottles of 2013 Cthulhu will be released Monday, March 7. Details to come soon. This should be an interesting release.

 

You might be right, but I didn't see anything that said the bottles will be 2013....only that the 3/4 tapping will be 2013.
