In the strictest sense of the word, Heady might be overrated. It's a world class beer, but it was hyped so much that when I first had it, I was a little underwhelmed.

Still awesome, just not otherworldly.

 

This thread does not live up to the hype... I mean it's a world class thread, but the hype I built up in my head, it just couldn't match it.

agreed. extremely over hyped. prefer focal much more. i would place several TG ipas over heady

when all these world class ipas are at your fingertips, its easy to become jaded. hahaha. heady while good, doesnt live up to the hype or competition for me personally.

definitely back to shitting on sue though!

 

Finally got some fresh Golden Nugget. Have to say there is only one Minnesota IPA (non-double) that I enjoy more. It was very good. I also had some 2/6 (I think, I know it was the first week of Feb) PSue and it was great as always. One of my favorites.

I think I'll hang out the taproom a little tonight and or tomorrow just to watch the shit show. Bottle releases are simultaneously hilarious, and awesome, as people come from all over and tend to bust out the big guns of their respective beer collections. You also see the desperate scavengers who pay people to buy more for them after they've hit their limit. It's the best and worst of beer culture at the same time. Never a dull moment when the King is in town.

 

New batch of canned Sue dated 2/10 hitting the Iowa city area. Nine days isn't bad!

 

I'm actually interested to try this batch of cans.

 

Are pseudo cans hitting DSM metro today?

 

I'll start buying Sue cans again when it looks like this...until then, nope.

 

Same here. The 12/28 batch was close, better than most pales on the market.
