Alpine Updates

I was there on Saturday. Had T25 on cask before it blew. Yes the waitress did tell us about it and even threw in an extra taster of it. They poured me a whole pint of it when I ordered a glass which I did not expect.

Got a 5 taster sampler of Super IPA, Tuatara (super drinkable session pale ale-2 of the guys I was with had to go to work after so it was perfect) plus Nelson and Duet. I was hoping something great would be available for a growler fill like Bad Boy or Hoppy Birthday but I'm not complaining about Nelson. I brought it back to hotel in San Diego where I met up with some friends down for a bachelor party. The food is great too and a nice scenic drive. Get there early, it fills up quick and its not very big. Like half the size of KRBC.

 

O.K., sorry about the "easily confused" post. I've been going there more than 8 years, and I guess it's understandable that your first visit was "disorienting." Yeah, it would be nice if they had the whole building, but the bookstore lady is incredibly stubborn, and hasn't figured out yet that the heyday of used paperback book stores is well behind us. The salon owner expects Pat to buy her out, and he doesn't need a bunch of hairdryers and shampoo to get rid of, so right now, they're stuck with the suites on 2 opposite sides of the building. The hours are different, because it doesn't make sense to have growler filling going until 11 p.m. Yes, ideally, it would all be one big ABC, it just hasn't worked out that way... yet.

 

I don't understand - what city is the pub in again?

 

Nope, we just missed you cuz I dragged ass getting out there. We did, however, close the place down Friday night, and then went right back Saturday morning for some cask whales, bro followed by two pitchers of Nelson.

I brought a growler of Nelson and Tuatara home, and killed them. Needless to say, I have been working out beast mode since Sunday. Did doubles Sunday and killed it today. So much sweat to offset!

 

Lol, you don't even want to know how much I've drank SINCE the two pitchers of Alpine. I'm planning a light bike workout tomorrow morning at like 5:30, haha

 

I keep abs, you just can't see them! At 37 I can't do both anymore ( keep *visible* abs and drink )

As long as I am strong enough to do keg stands it's all good.

 

Will deploy wife to get growlers. Me at Alpine during work week is a bad recipe.

From FB: "Whales have been spotted at the brewery, if you know what I mean. Growler fills start at noon Tuesday, limit 6 peer beer. Visit the pub first, they should be on draught."


Do they mean Whale? Seems early for that.

Not Expo, since they said they won't do growler fills of that anymore. I'd guess Bad Boy and Hoppy Birthday. Anyone in North County heading there tomorrow that I could carpool with?

They deleted that post and said this instead

"No more speculation- 2 of our most popular beers will be available for growler fills tomorrow at noon, in the brewery. There is a limit of 6 growler fills per beer. They should be on draught in the pub, so have some tacos, wait for the brewery to open, and enjoy some of the freshest beer anywhere!"
