I caught wind of some special barrels being emptied down in Kentucky, so I brewed up some stout. Let's just let the beer and barrels become what they become, with some helpful nudging along the way.

This is a picture of my original iteration (commercial size) of pseudoSue (It was Pseudo Tsu back in mid 2011). Over the years there's been numerous lots of Citra to come and go - some of which I would never want to see again - and also varying experiments with clarifying agents, namely biofine clear. The picture you posted would have been from a batch that received biofine clear. While clarity is fun in certain areas, there's just always been something special to me about a beer with a glow to it.

Is this where we say Pseudo Tsu was better than PseudoSue? Bring back Tsu!

Honestly, I drank a case of Dinner from release day, 12/19, to New Years! I don't see in any way that these, treehouse or MBC, beers are ranked above TGB King Sue. Not even close in all reality! Had 2 day old King Julius, it was alright. Heady is standard. Starting to believe these Masshole's have an ego for their local beers.

So I know you're just being snarky, but has anyone ever confirmed what the base for the TG BA stouts is? If it's not Rover, I'd be curious to try that stout in and of itself.

Norseman's Wrath? Believe that was on at the taproom back in the day.
Edit: quick glance at untappd shows 2012 check-ins

I'm glad you guys are living up to the friendly Iowan stereotype. I was just stating my opinion, but hey.....

Back to appreciating TG. I had some Lightspeed last night. Very nice batch. I like it better than the last batch but has some similarities with CD's Ode?

I definitely get the similarities with Ode, but maybe with more orange peel and slightly more bitterness. Both beer share a real tropical taste.

That sucks, but I'm guessing with Nelson being all the rage these days that they probably had a hard time getting a crop in, or they didn't like that crop they got.

Keep in mind that anything still around is close to a year old. New Zealand hop harvest is just getting underway now.

If that's the case, no Zeelander for awhile makes sense.
