Beer in Omaha, NE

Kinkaider's 750mL Reserve Series made it out of Broken Bow and onto HyVee store shelves in Lincoln & Omaha. I suppose some of you all know that, just thought it was cool that it happened since they didn't sell out at the taproom. I can't say one way or another if they're worth $17 and $20 as I haven't tried them yet... and is everyone really looking for BA Bomb that bad? Gees, I know of a place that would let me walk in and buy 2 cases of it right now. You'll never get it out of me!!! (direct message me if you want the details)

Has anyone tried the Kinkaider BA stout? Definitely intrigued but would appreciate any feedback.

 

A little heavy on the barrel but not barrel juice/tea. I wanted a bit more stout base character as I believe @dennisjames33 did too. All-in-all one of the better BA stouts to come out of Nebraska but like a lot of our beer it needs work still.

 

It's nothing interesting I assure you. Really just a mistake of mine while reading a large e-mail chain between our event co-coordinator and a manager at Jbros

 

I should add that it was a very good first attempt for a young brewery

speaking of new nebraska bottles, saw farnam house is releasing their first (i think) bottles of an sour dry-hopped with/el dorado for omaha beer week, assuming it's gonna be pretty limited/bottles only at the brewery? wish i could get more of their stuff in lincoln. papio kriek has been popping up quite a bit recently at least.

 

So TG status is not up in the air, at the moment they are still attending (not sure why I care so much, as I haven't purchased a ticket)?

Shelton Brothers wont be bringing in Prairie Beers, right? Looking forward to trying Pirate BOMB!, I know previous release info said March, but you know, next monday is that extra day of February year, so didn't know if we would see it then

 

Matt buys Prairie directly from Chase. One of the benefits of him working for SBI for a decade is that he knows everyone. He also will be buying Jolly Pumpkin directly from Ron instead of going through SBI. This means cheaper beer and higher allocations for NE.

I personally don't worry about when a beer is coming. When it comes it comes. No control over it.

 

Is the cellar sale still on at Beertopia today? Also curious if anyone has a brewery/beer list for EBF on Saturday.

In case anyone was wanting to try it, Brix out west had a few bottles of Scratchtown Keys to the Asylum sitting on a barrel near the beer section today. I grabbed one, excited to try it. Support Local (when you can)!
