The problem was there was no rhyme or reason about who was standing where, that got tickets. It was pretty atrocious. If they want to boost sales by giving it to the people in the bar seats and tables, I'm all for it. Having any system at all for the remainder would have been nice. Not sure why simple things that worked successfully in the past like "lines" seem to be so far fetched here.

Yeah, there were people that had been there over an hour that didn't get tickets, but people that got there right before 5:30 did. I think some sort of line system would've been a great idea. I'm sure I would've got shut out either way since I didn't get there until 5:15, but it would've made more sense.

Disappointed in the staff because you didn't get a bottle? Everyone there was busting their ass, the place was packed and the Clybourn staff is always top notch.

Maybe you should check the entitlement at the door next time you go and things will go better. There simply wasn't enough beer for everyone and there should have been a line.

I noticed they mentioned an apology for the confusion. I think that's pretty solid of them. They certainly have no obligation to do anything like that - they sold their beer at the price they chose, but do seem to care about their customers.

It was a mess for patrons and staff both, but could have been easily managed with a line like Nuthulhu. I heard several different messages directly from staff, which is what leads to the bitterness for myself and others. Oh well, great beer though. Sad to hear Clyburn special release beers might be a thing of the past

In GI defense I don't think they excepted that big a crowd. Look at the last releases and the recent Nutulhu tapping, having more people at a Monday bottle release of Cthulhu then a weekend Nutulhu tapping leads me to believe the place was loaded with mules and people didn't expected that. In the end I walked in a little before 6, got a Pour and saved $35 bucks better spent on pours of BCBS Variants at the bar.

I don't get the complaining. Anybody who really believed that anybody in the building at 5:30 would get a bottle is simply an idiot. GI said there would only be roughly 400 bottles. The place was packed. Showing up to any release 15-30 minutes before hand usually results in one ending up empty handed. I'm just glad GI does these on Mondays...that's five in a row for me. The back bar was packed by 4:00, just FYI.

Nutulhu was gone pretty quickly. Keep in mind it was not only Valentine's Day, but also was a tapping in the middle of a blizzard. I tried to get two pours, but no look. That's the best Clybourn beer I've ever had.

No. Disappointed that there was no communication amongst the staff beforehand. I asked 4 different staff members a question, and was given different answers by all of them regarding where I needed to be to get a ticket, and then the proceeds to do none of what they said.

I'm not pissed I didn't get a beer. That's fine. I'm upset I wasted an hour and a half of my time being told to keep going to different places.

Disapointed in the staff for not having a plan. Got a different answer from each member. I agree they were working hard in a packed house but there needed to be a plan and order. Not each member of staff talking out of their ass followed by goose island not folloowing the plan they laid out on twitter.

Yes other wristbands were given out based on the table wait list. Around the main bar it was everyone seated first, then another round of handing them out randomly to people standing around the bar. Not nearly enough to go around there.

didn't they advertise this starting like 3 weeks ago? how in the heck could they have not anticipated the s_show that was yesterday? this was either poor (or a lack of) planning or dumb ignorance. either way, it could have (and should have) been avoided.

there is zero reason to complain imho, there were more people than bottles, that simple. its also a small space even with the new bar for 400 people to all want something at the same time. staff did a great job. I also think there is a chance this is 2 year aged cthulu.
