I'll be in Brooklyn this Saturday and Sunday, and hoping I can get lucky with this Grimm release. I'll be stalking Beer Menus like all of you, but can anyone provide some insight in terms of places in or near Park Slope that get Grimm's stuff? I did some digging in the previous thread and it seems like Whole Foods Brooklyn, Stinky Bklyn and Covenhoven had MBDN, Lambo and Subliminal. Any other places I should keep my eye on in that area?

Side question: Other than more Beer Menus searching, any intel on shops in/around Park Slope that might have Pipeworks cans and/or Westbrook Siberian Black Magic Panther in stock? Thanks.

The problem with Grimm is that stuff sells out within a few hours of dropping at stores, and I don't think there are many (any?) drops on the weekends. I'm not super familiar with Brooklyn shops though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. You'll likely have more luck with Vacay than Afterimage, since the sour bottles sometimes don't sell out immediately. Otherwise, just monitor this thread closely - but odds are, if something was posted more than a few hours ago on this thread it's gone. Good luck!

Thanks. I know it's a long shot, but hoping a little bit of a prep makes it slightly less impossible. Ha.

Got my set of the new glasses and DAMN DANIEL! They are sexy! The size of the wine glass made me think the balloon glass was smaller than normal. But nope, compared to my HF one and they're the same. Can't wait to hopefully break these in with Afterimage and Vacay.

As with everything you both do @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales, I'm sure each glass is meant for a specific style you brew. What are your recommendations of beer/glass pairings?

beermenus knows all but I don't think there's that much pipeworks stuff around right now. 205 station in south slope may have some, I would also call the ploughman, whole foods, and the prospector.

    a few things:
-Vacay and Afterimage are unloading at Union right now so deliveries look on schedule
-Union is also picking up Liquid Crystal hoppy farmhouse from Flagship on Staten Island tomorrow
-we're at Beltway this week pulling out the big guns for a mid April release: Tesseract and Psychokinesis
-This month's new beers, Liquid Crystal and Vacay, are the jam

IT PUTS THE LOTION IN THE BASKET

I think this is a good question for empirical research! both of the new glass designs are sized to leave some room in the glass for gathering aromas -- don't fill to the top. We're generally of the opinion that the best glass for *any* beer is a half filled wine glass.

For example the glass in our avatar is arguably overfilled and losing some of its aroma impact.

Assuming Liquid Crystal will be draft only? And can't wait for more Tesseract and Psychokinesis in April!!

Yeah, Liquid Crystal is draft only. Tesseract and Psychokinesis have definitely been two of our faves -- mosaic FTW

Posting here to say that I got to try the Grimm collab with Fantome. (Bottle was sourced from overseas.) Being a big fan of Fantome, the bar was set very high and im pleased to say it exceeded my expectations.

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales can you share any specifics about the beer? It really felt like it was more in the vein of a hefeweizen than a "normal" Fantome saison.

Just an FYI to NYC people, we've been told Union is getting Afterimage and Vacay to us next week, not tomorrow. People keep coming in and assuming it'll be released tomorrow but Union hasn't communicated that with us.

Just to add to that, when I spoke to someone at WF on Tuesday, they said they hadn't heard anything from Union, so it probably wouldn't be this week.

Someone needs to print up "May the odds be ever in your favor" shirts with the Grimm logo on them. Or "I'm just here for the Grimm" real big on the front so store owners can shoot you the "no mas" hand signal.

Is this a ploy to kill the hype and score all the Grimm for yourselves?
Was hoping for tomorrow. Guess this means Monday?

So glad you're digging it! It's kinda frustrating that the beer hasn't hit the streets here in the US yet, but it's cool that some folks have managed to nab it regardless. The grist is wheat and pilsner and we did a step mash with a ferulic acid rest so those factors bring in the hefe quality you're picking up. We let Dany choose the fermentation details. From what we understand he has two different primary sacch strains; one is for the classic blonde/saison beers and the other is something he uses for "special" beers. Dany elected to pitch the latter. We put together an interesting cocktail of spices including rose hips.

Do you think it'll probably be delivered with the rest of this week's Union shipment?

I've also been told by Union that it's not yet in stock.

I already put in a notice to work from home tomorrow only to be disappointed by the Whole Foods across the street that it won't arrive until Monday/Tuesday :slight_frown:

Do people really go that far out of their way to get beer? I heard from a store owner one time that people are actually taking days off just to chase beer.
