I watched Ong Bak one of the first times I had a really good batch of Stone Enjoy By, so now whenever I have a really dank onion bomb double IPA, or Stone Enjoy By again, I have to watch an Asian martials arts movie.

I used to tell people it wasn't really about Vietnam, it was a metaphor for the "Beer Wars". The Americans drank Rolling Rock and Iron City, while the "enemy torturers" drank Miller High Life.

Tsingtao ? :astonished: Author Jean Shepard didn't mention or show a commercial clip from that brand in his classic "Beer" episode of his Jean Shepard's America PBS series:

Obviously, from the logo on the footed pilsner glass, filmed at the Schlitz Milwaukee brewery. Here a pic of Shepard with a brewery worker at the time.

IIRC, he said his old man drank Chicago's Atlas Prager in some of essays or radio shows. Tough one to find these days - it was eventually a Heileman brand that I guess went with the spin-off Evansville Brewing Co. in Indiana.
