If it didn't vibe you then, maybe you were listening to older stuff. I really liked the period where Brent started singing more. So soulful. The guy had some serious pipes, and as far as tickling the ivories...topnotch. Went to some very cool shows out here on the west coast when I felt he was peaking.

Back in the time I've referenced, I was a huge Pink Floyd fan, plus a big prog rock guy in general. While I still listen to a lot of similar music, my tastes have hugely expanded, so it's entirely possible it'd click with me now. The problem with GD is the same as that of Zappa (another musician I feel I need to check out, but lack the resoources to do it properly), there's 8 million freaking albums!

Ahem... That's what she said. * Michael Scott voice

I am in the same boat. Didn't connect with me when I was younger but I was big into hip-hop so it was more of a leap. Will have to give it another run.

Gimme a song to check out, please.

Okay, here's the comprehensive, omnibus edition (I've never actually learned what that means, but always thought it sounded cool) of my hints to my target, who was sniffing around a day or two ago on a really obvious hint, but didn't quite declare. He posted here this AM, btw. Hey, guess that's another hint!

    Starting from the beginning:

    1. Starting from a deliberately vague and obtuse standpoint, I can confirm my target resides on Earth and would seem to work there too.

    2. In beer hint news, the state my target is in is older than the state I live in.

    3. In light of earlier hockey talk, my newest hint is that someone who played in the NHL in my target's state once played for the minor league team in my hometown. That player is not a Canadian

    4. My target lives in a state that is well to the east of me, but well to the west of others.

    5. The USN does not currently have (but in the past has had) a warship in service named for my target’s state (per wikipedia, anyway).

    6. A longtime item (perhaps a toy, game, article of clothing, something to sleep with) popular with children is named for a famous person from my target's state.

    7. My target's town is not well known, but it is near a place with a reputation for being a real institution.

    8. The institutional setting noted above provided a nickname for a movie character, played by an actor that is no longer with us. This actor was born in a neighborhood in the nearest metropolis to my target. Said neighborhood once was peopled by eastern Europeans, but more recently considered a Puerto Rican neighborhood.

    9. [Hint #13: My target was not one of the 9 people that "liked" my last hint post.] Your most recent hint could serve me equally well.

    10. My target shares a state with someone else's target. Both have looked at this thread this morning (it's no longer morning where they are).

    11. There is a place near my target that is named for what I think is his employer. It's wet (at least the eastern portion).

    12. <pseudo-hint #3: My target doesn't seem to realize who s/he is... as far as I know [IMG]- and I haven't had to try too hard to deceive him/her.> I've noticed that about my target, as well.

    13. One more hint about my target. I'm lead to believe by his profile that he does not work, he “serves,” and my hat is off to him.

    14. My target lives near a river with a name similar to a catchphrase shouted at the beginning of a cheesy tv show that aired in the 70s and 80s. That character was probably shorter than anyone in this BIF and the actor had a French name.

    15. If you live in a town named for a Confederate submarine, you will not be getting any PNW beer, but someone close to you will be.

    16. Tracking shows @Ri0's porchbomber is currently passing through Chicagoland. My target could make a play for it, but he's probably "on watch."

As for haul hints? Good hunting, there's lots of them.

Going back to review hints, maybe it's just my drunkness, but this could be interpreted VERY badly :wink:

Sorry I'll leave now. I have three people who need to give more hints so I can eliminate them!

As a transportation nerd, an omnibus is basically a horse-drawn bus from the late 1800's into the early 1900's, but there's some weird legislative definition too if I'm not mistaken, which I'm sure is what you're using it as haha.

I've got it narrowed down to two new yorkers and a californian I THINK.

Think it's a bill they just load up with all types of pork, initiatives, programs. Just my guess from hearing it in context. I guess I could Google.

    Haul Hint # whatever

Including a beer I haven't actually bought yet and obliquely referenced by @beertunes, I believe my total beer contribution ( I still might break it into multiple shipments) looks to be aprox 225 oz of beer.

It seems to have (or at least once had) a literary meaning as well. I've seen omnibus editions of works by writers such as Jules Verne, etc. I took it to mean Everything But The Kitchen Sink in such contexts.

Whoops! Forgot to count 12.68oz of an ale that's really "wild," whose brewery rhymes with Pig Pal and is brewed in the same city as one @kemoarps. It's an "archived" beer.

Package moved to its final destination town, one with a name vaguely similar to one of our our nation's symbols (the one that just had two babies around here). Hope my target isn't taking the day off.

Got my special operations force all packaged up and ready to go out today for @BigRedDog !
Spoilers. It is at least 6 brews. The rating average on BA is 97.666666. Two are rated 100.

This is a tough group, designed to clean up any survivors from my initial onslaught, may (beer)god have mercy on our souls.

Not a huge fan of their recorded studio music, try any Dick's Picks (live) from the early 70's, or from '77 at Barton Hall.

Absolutely agree. One From the Vault, I love, have for years.
As for live stuff. Pull up version of Dear Mr Fantasy and you'll see what I mean about Brent's pipes.

Perhaps you mean Ombudsman? I do, however, remember a warning sign on our school buses growing up, telling us to stay behind the line while the omnibus was in motion. So, there's that.
