I figure you're not a real NE BA poster until you get into an argument with Sweatshirt, so this is all fine.

I think the middle ground is the most logical, but Tree House (and now some Trillium) guys wondering if they can have a Single Shot from 6 weeks ago is frustrating. You'd think beer turns to sand after a month the way some people talk about it.

Also to everyone who brings a cooler to TH or Trillium in February, like, don't do that. It's unnecessary pretty much at all times, especially the dead of winter.

Beer does turn to sand. Noob.

Glad I have a rep at least. I'm actually a really nice guy. Just don't come off like it here. My personality doesn't translate well to text. If you ever want to share a few beers shoot me a PM, I'm always down. I come off better as a real person.

    Good talk.

Yeah, I'm getting angry with the freshness dorks (and maybe directed anger your way). I tend to agree with your posts on here. You come off as genuine and not a fanboy, which I respect. Enjoy the weekend, bud.

I, on the other hand, get pissed off at know-nothing bozos who have a simple minded, half-assed opinion about absolutely everything including what I should be drinking and worrying about but who never actually answer the question that was asked.

Should a kölsch be drunk fresh? Yes. Is two months hopelessly outdated? No, probably not. Do I have to drive two hours to get to Trillium then take them all the way up to @TheDoctor in Montréal who, what with all the other tasty beverages I'm bringing him, may not get around to drinking it for a month or more? I don't know; let me check with @jimmyfausto.

So, anyway, has anybody bought a Big Sprang lately and happened to notice the bottle date?

Don't. Never apologize for anything. Hold unreasonably strong opinions, argue them forcefully and defend them to the death. Don't force me to read a bunch of ***** I'm-OK-you're-OK compromisy shit.

Had a beer that was canned yesterday. Too old.

I had a 2/16 on Easter. Drank well but loaded with sediment in appearance. Not even just opaque like their IPA's but hazy and cloudy, but full of sediment everywhere. It tasted great.

Yeah, because wasting all those cardboard containers at Tree House is such an awesome move.

I bring a cooler (no ice) every time I go because 1) the beers don't tip over in my car on the drive home, and 2) I hate wasting the cardboard, even if I recycle it at home. Ever notice how the nice people at TH thank you when you return the cardboard to them? So, no, it's not unnecessary to bring a cooler.

What time yesterday? If it was canned after noon, you're probably being a dick.

    OK, dead horse beaten.

Have to agree with you here. I bring my Trillium bags for most trips, but I'll bring a cooler if I need more capacity.

Last year I moved most of my apartment into my house with Trillium boxes, but now I have no purpose for them, I'd rather not keep wasting them.

You gotta love the internet. The only place we can have a heated discussion about whether it's hip to bring coolers to a brewery.

I think the latest batch of Melcher is the second batch (hazegate!) from the new brew house. How is it?

It's real good (very fresh right now). The haze is back for sure, FYI.

Just crushed a growler of the latest batch of Mettle. Very pillowy and juicy. So good. I noticed a little bit of that juicy fruit bubblegum taste that i get so up front from tree house beer. Good stuff trillium. I can't believe I don't think twice about dropping 25 bucks on a growler anymore

I went to Marty's the other day and saw DDH FPPA on the shelf for…………..$16!!!! I was shocked, but at least they had FPPA and Mosaic FPPA for a reasonable price ($10). I'm happy that Trillium can finally be bought in select stores, but I hope that the prices remain reasonable.

The markup on the DDH is only a bit more than the markup on FPPA. $10 for FPPA, which is $8 at the brewery, is a 25% markup. $16 for DDH, which is $12 at the brewery, is a 33% markup. A jump, but not that huge of a difference to be shocked by.

I haven't bought any Trillium at stores, but those prices make me happy Julio's only charges $1 more than the brewery, I'm fine with them literally making a buck.

Those Marty's prices are pretty awful, since they sure ain't paying $8.05 a bottle .. or $12.05 for the DDH FPPA, and they're going to sell out in a day(s) with no risk

Finally having the Enigma FPPA, it's tropical for sure but reminds me of Strisselspalt of all things, wonder how great an Enigma Sunshower would be

ed - this is also the haziest, and now that the growler is empty sludgiest at the bottom of all FPPAs I've had

I'm guessing Julio's gets the bottles for slightly below market rate, right? I'm not sure how the business side of brewing works though

Prices have to be the same for all retailers, there can be volume discounts but they have to be available to all. Even still, the wholesale price can't be $8.05/$12.05 a bottle
