Getting near the bottom of my first can. Nothing magical, but solid.

I often eat unidentified crumbs off the kitchen counter. I ate an old stray sliver of ham I found in the toaster over tonight. I'm like a dog in human form. I'll live through it.

This beer is like a roller coaster in which you start at the top...It drops off quickly. For me, Size 4 takes the cake in the "Best Local Sessionable Hoppy Beer" category.

I thought Xtra Citra was above average for the style. I recently had Cigar City's Invasion which is a terrific session, especially fresh

I dig it. I think it's very good for a session beer. The price is right too! I envision myself purchasing several of these throughout the summer rockin' out on the good ole mighty Mississippi.

This is one of the few Surly beers that shouldn't have been brewed! It smells awesome but taste is blah! Give me Furious or Abrasive any day over this stuff! Yes I know it is cheap and a session beer but wow no flavor might as well drink that AB InBev crap!

You'll be happy to learn it's run for the year is done. 'Merica will be replacing it at the same price point.

That's unfortunate. It's the second best beer Surly has ever brewed.

That's exciting news. I definitely enjoyed the few #Merica's I had at the brewery last summer.

I don't think anyone has said this, but I'm sure I"m not the only one thinking it, but was this beer using the spent grain from any of the other beers? I also just read in the Hops home brew book that you can reuse hops that have been only used for dry hopping. I'm not saying they are doing any of this, but I can see how/ why the may want to see what comes with 2nd runnings and less citra hops.

I thought I liked it the first drink, but find myself cringing at drinking the last one in my fridge.

So they made a summer beer and discontinued it right as the weather gets better? GENIUS!

"Surly Nation, winter is over. To celebrate, we’re gettin’ Xtra-Surly and releasing a brand new beer – Xtra-Citra Pale Ale – a bright colored session ale that explodes with Citra hop flavor and aroma."

Seems like it was a Spring beer

If it's considered a summer release for them, then it's on par. We get Pumpkin beers in July for crying out loud.

You had a point until Cacao Bender. The fact that you don't like that makes the rest of your points totally invalid.
