What beer are you drinking now? #1292

Retail management means that I can make my own schedule and usually get a weekday off. I figured that today was as good a day as any for a Canton trip. Came home with 2 DDH Melcher, 2 Coffee Pot & Kettle, 4 Heavy Mettle and 4 Night and Day. Stopped by Yankee in Attleboro and they had plenty of Trillium. P&K, Mosaic FPPA, DDH Sleeper, Big Sprang, and Free Rise all in the cooler.

I enjoyed the Enigma. It was super dank, but probably my least favorite out of the dry hopped Fort Points. Galaxy is my absolute favorite.

 

Can't have breakfast for dinner without an appropriate beer

Hell, I didn't buy it until yesterday! I didn't look at the date closely, I just knew I hadn't seen it at my shop near the house.

 

Great beer. Especially at 6.99 a bomber!

 

Sweetwater Georgia Brown


Dark brown with tan cap and very fine even lacing. Low key toffee caramel malt with only a hint of earthy, spicy hops.
Malt apparent and roasted bitterness appearing as an undercurrent but not intrusive. Rich but in a dryer style, the hops weaving in and out. Finishes clean with malt rather than hop finish.

As an homage to British Brown Ale this one's in the ballpark. Not first bat but a decent runner. This beer is not so standoutish as to be remarkable but is certainly a good representative of the style. If I grabbed this one blind I wouldn't be disappointed.

Really have to restrain myself from buying more of this liquid. Smells dank and awesome, has a really great balance. Rather steep at $6/can. But I guess that's cheaper than anything from the Maine Beer Co.

Nickel Brook Immodest Imperial Pale Ale

 

The first Singlecut IPA I'm really just Meh about - maybe bad bottle? Aroma does smell of NZ hops but the flavor doesn't follow....has a slight smokey flavor to it?

Guess I need to put Mother Earth stouts on my radar. Loved both of the ones I've tried this week.
