The profile page for brown ales will tell you to use a pint glass, but these days mst folks are moving away from them when possible. I have a set of those New Belgium glasses, and find they work well for just about any style, browns included, so you're in good shape there IMO.

I had a chance to enjoy this thanks to a co-worker who muled it from the corp. office in MN. Great offering from Surly.

You have good taste my friend. If you have not, try the Rockville Red. A good red ale.

I think 9 pictures may be a bit too much to post, so here's the link instead. Sadly but to be expected, the Granitbock was an oxidized mess that tasted like grape juice.

I'd have shot a picture of the beer in the glass, but it was gone too fast.

And an imperial hoppy cream ale from Barrier and Carton...

"Scream" but they gotta be all clever and make it, "SS-C.R.E.A.M."

I really enjoyed it, and I'm no devotee of cream ales, but didn't it kinda stop being a cream ale once they made it hoppy and imperial? :stuck_out_tongue: lol :grinning:

Smooth and creamy for sure, soft and light, but presented more like a DIPA (8.4% abv) with a twist than a cream ale with a twist. Know what I mean? Soft fruit flavors, a gentle malt base, and some bitter, fruity hops - very drinkable, and appealing to me, a fan of pale-to-amber ales in the 7-8% abv-range.

    Listened to...

    Cheers...

When I said chunky that's what I was inferring - lots of floaties- which I agree doesn't affect the taste which was decent. However IMO with that much excess proteins in the beer it's either deliberate or a flaw. With OCs Backseat Berner it was a flaw that's since been corrected. This one I'm not sure. But you certainly can be very hazy and tropical and not have shitloads of floaties. Unlike many appearance makes a difference to me in the overall enjoyment of a beer. And that was pretty ugly. Of course that's just me. Many as you say don't mind....

Very interesting sour offering from Allagash.
Aroma of honey seems to explode from the bottle as the cork pops.
Funk from the Brett is almost nonexistent due to the overpowering honey on the nose.
    Honeyed grapefruit on the palate.
    Rather thin.
Overall I will be trying another one of these.
