I'd like a full report from this tasting. Haven't had most of these. Grabbed some Birthday Bomb yesterday in Cola, SC. Should be arriving in Florida soon I would think.

Found it at my local shop today in Indianapolis, Indiana. They got 7 cases of it, so it doesn't appear to be a limited release (the same shop got one case each of Pirate and BA when each was respectively released).

the only thing i've taken from this thread is that no one can agree on the ingredients in caramel.

I was under the assumption there would be plenty of this to go around because there's no barrels needed. It's the regular Bomb! Ingredients + caramel?

Yes! Seems very limited. One case per store here. $12 a bottle, which is the same price as BA BOMB! was.

I hear you! If you just heat and melt plain sugar, it turns into hard candy. Like lollipops.

I have a huge tub of them in my lab at work...they taste like wood chips with a slight cocoa flavor

I got mine yesterday, I think some of you are just waiting for distributors days to hit your local bottle shop and longer shipping distances. Prairie-vous Francais is out too. Regular BOMB is more coffee and chocolate forward & Birthday BOMB is more cake, caramel, etc. from the sounds of it based off this Prairie Artisan Ales article straight from their website. A beer dedicated to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of their most popular beer, BOMB. So... cheers & congrats to PAA!

IMO: compared to standard Bomb, the Birthday was MUCH sweeter and had more vanilla... I think this came from the caramel addition. The coffee was a little bit more prevalent, but the cocoa nibs were virtually nonexistent and the chiles only came through in the finish as the beer warmed. There is also a little bit of an alcohol burn in the Birthday which I don't notice in the regular Bomb. I would rather save my extra $2-3 and drink the regular! But, if you liked that sickeningly sweet and artificial tasting Southern Tier Crème Brulee, you'll love the Birthday Bomb.

    FT.

Holiday Market in Royal Oak just got it in. Sounds like there's still some available today.

Finally hit LA. Was at Mr Ks/Hacienda Brea/WHole Foods DTLA. Better than Bomb! but not really better than any of their BA beers. Close to BA Bomb/Christmas Bomb, but not nearly as good as Pirate Bomb/Noir, Vanilla Noir, Bible Belt IMO

Horrocks in Grand Rapids had 15+ bottles when I was there last night. $10.99. I'm guessing the Lansing Horrocks got some as well.

Picked one up at Total Wine in Greenville, SC for $12! Limit one, but at that price, do they expect people to buy more than that? Awesome stout! One of the craziest beer experiences drinking that bad boy!

Wasn't looking for it, but ran across 3 bottles at one of the Sioux Falls, SD bottle shops, so picked one up to try. According to distribution info, South Dakota doesn't officially get Prairie but we've had it for a while. Would like to see it become more official if that means increased availability of stouts...
