How much a can?

 

way late here, but i have no idea what i paid. got 3/2, a couple other cans, a draft and dinner. didn't look at itemized!

 

Monarch got a case of future perfect. I was lucky enough to get the last bottle. Checked Bellport yesterday when I was out there for work and they didnt have either (yet).

M&H Chelsea sold out of cans same day yesterday. Sweeeet

 

Just walked in to my usual store at 1PM thinking they might not have it .. and walked out with last 4pk of forcefield @ 19.99 and a future perfect. woot woot woot

 

they still had a case+ when I left yesterday at 540.

Anyways, Future Perfect is very delicate and light, tastes more like carbonated fruit flavored soda, in the best way possible. Very very good.

Forcefield is not all that hop forward, and I'm enjoying it a ton. Drinks really well for 6.4%-- don't notice the abv in the slightly. I'm so used to drinking DIPAs at this point that a delicious 6-7% IPA is very welcome. It's pretty fruity, but I can't put my finger on what.

 

Had Lucky Cloud at Haymaker yesterday afternoon. Awesome beer. Well executed.

 

Am I the only one that picks up a slight diacetyl taste on the Forcefield cans? It comes off moreso in the nose than the taste, but that slightly buttery aroma was one of the first things I noticed.

 

That's really interesting. We've been drinking this nonstop and we don't get diacetyl at all. The beer got a more than thorough diacetyl rest. I think what you're smelling is oats. it's an oat ipa.

 

This very well may be the case, but it's not a note I associate with oats in beer. I've had Oat Junkie, Oat Overdose, Lagunitas Equinox, etc. and I never picked up a buttery characteristic from those. Diacetyl or not, it was slightly off-putting for my palate.

Having said that: Forcefield is still a very worthy IPA. It's my least favorite of the cans thus far, but there has to be a least favorite and it's certainly up against some stiff competition when compared to your other canned offerings.

 

Had about 4 cans of FF and tried it on draft. At first it was a little abbrasive but once it opened up you get the smooth round edges that Grimm is known for. Great fruit and earthy taste mostly fruit nice aroma. Tastes like a more balanced lumen

 

First can I had had a bit of buttery aroma but the second was just a nice creamy
ipa. One of my favorites so far. It wasnt as bad as some of the off captains daughters cans I've had but it was noticeable.


Overall this ca reminded me of the tired hands/omnipollo milk shake ipa's but a little more balanced.

 

WF UWS had 2+ cases of Future Perfect as of this morning. Behind the counter by the growler fill, $10.99

 

Amazing - they haven't gotten Grimm in ages.
