Bourbon Barrel Aged Skillet Bottle Release

Boone, Asheville, Morganton, Boone.... 4 weekends of travel...who's ready?

 

yep bitter coffee and dark roasted malts for me all day. Too much bitter coffee to be considered a sweet stout, all things considered.

 

They decided to change it to $18 2pp. Bump.

 

Why is it $2 more a bottle?

 

who knows. Ask them lol.

 

They probably bottled it up in the last few days and realized they did not have as much as inticipated, and at $16 the math didn't add up for the batch size and cost to produce.

 

Word is it was a typo on the website. On both. They have not packaged it yet.

 

I'm excited for bourbon skillet but damn I can't wait for Skillet six ways. I stumbled into burial drunk one time and they threw a strawberry and vanilla variant of Skillet on. One of the best beers I have ever had.

 

Wristband #112 here. They just ran out of wristbands like 5 mins ago. If you're not already here and were hoping to get bottles...well...ya know

 

Got here at 8:30 and am 94. This is too much.

 

I'm havin a ball. Meeting cool ppl in line and drinking good beers makes the time fly by. Of course, the one time I either get sandwiched between some whalezbro assholes who ruin the experience or wait in line for three hours only to get shut out, I'm gonna be like "I've had it with these stupid releases." Ha

 

Good for Burial by giving people a heads up on bottle count/wristbands. Having people stand in line four hours and not get bottles is easily avoided.

 

Got there at 9:40. Got my band. Went to Vortex. Back to hotel. Then back to pick up. How it should be done.

 

If anyone tries it on tap (or opens a bottle) I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Oaky Skillet. Its interesting for sure.

 

Hot at all? Is the coffee as intense as regular Skillet?

 

Honestly? Not a lot of bourbon or less than I expected, may be the large amount of coffee covering up the bourbon. Its there, but I was hoping for more vanilla and coconut from the barrel.

 

I didn't arrive soon enough to get a bottle and while I have no complaints about that, they should have had more on tap as the keg kicked before 12:30. A lot of folks were upset about that.

 

Dang that does suck.
