I've had the Double Espresso Premio Caffe Birra and it wasn't bad. Just not world rocking nor as intensely earth as I was for some reason expecting but still perfectly fine. Cairngorm White Lady I've only had on cask but it was very enticing indeed. Can't say whayt it would be like off the shelves though in my experience Cairngorm have some real special skills in getting the character of their beers into bottled versions.

    Ivanhoe again?

Not really very excited at all. I guess the "experts" have in mind sales more than quality too.

    99 Red Baboons - heh!

Some breweries on there that I haven't heard of - always good to sample new things (though I agree Ivanhoe really shouldn't be on there again).

I've heard good noises about Batemans Mocha - wanted to try it when it first came out. Though quite how they qualify as a brewer from the North is a mystery

Cheers for the link! Some interestingly named brews - looking forward to trying the espresso one and the mocha.

Good mix of breweries i know and ones that i don't, should be interesting.

I quite liked Ivanhoe but agree that it should not be in the hunt again - surely they could have found another beer from that region.

On the northern front, Manchester star is okay but I have a gripe with JWL obsession with smooth/nitrokeg. I really enjoyed Bateman's mocha but BandM's still sell it eor ninety nine pence. Interesting seeing Beartown there but if you check out my reviews they read more competent and good than great.

Just thought, will all of these be part of the Beer Hunt? Cos I make it 20 beers, wasn't there only about 15 last yr?

Not that I'm complaining! More new beers to try is always good!

Was in a reasonable sized Sainburys today and the beer selection wasn't up to much. And the 4 pack cans of Punk IPA still have a December 2012 Best Before date. Hasn't changed in months.

These beers seem to be in stores now, was in my local store today and they have a whole section filled with these beers.

I went back a few hours later and I don't think anyone had bought any in that time, I picked up: Double Espresso Premio Caffe Birra, Harviestoun Wild Hop Gold and Castle Rock Screech owl.
I was intrigued by the Beartown Wojtek but the green bottles put me off, I suppose I should have picked one up saight away as they wold not have been on the shelf too long.

I picked up a few bottles then kicked myself, because Sainsburys will no doubt be doing the usual '3 for £4' or something along those lines and since they change their offers on Tuesday night, this will no doubt be activated tomorrow, so perhaps hold fire in case I'm right!

Wow, didnt realise they were already in store!

Paxton1978 is probably right about the 3 for £4 - their site is advertising the Espresso one as being on that offer. Unfortunately, the others aren't listed on their site yet.

Think I'm off to Sainsburys tomorrow!

Saw the update from Robert yesterday and popped in today to have a look. An interesting selection - some of them look pretty good though others are likely to be rubbish (based on familiarity with certain breweries). Currently none are on offer, but I hope this changes. Surprising number of clear bottles on display, which is disappointing.

Bought one - the Primo Caffe Birra as it was the lowest price. Sounds like it could be tasty. Hope to sample a few of the others as well.....

Just picked up a few today and can confirm they are on offer.

Will end up sampling them all but today came home with the Double Espresso one, Harviestoun Wild Hop (wasn't this in last yrs?), Elgood's Indian Summer, Wojtek, Scarborough Fair IPA and Prodigal Sun.

Didn't have a proper look, but don't recall seeing all of the bears on the OP's link. Will look proper another day.

3 for £4 seems to have kicked in now.

Last year it was the Wild Hop IPA, this year it is the Wild Hop gold.

Thanks, yeah I realised this a little while after - wonder if there is much difference.

As ReluctantScoop stated the offer is 3 for £4.

Had a couple of em so far and been quite impressed on first try.

Actually quite surprised that the Scarborough fair IPA is fairly decent.
