setting aside can vs bottle prices for a min, none of established top dog IPAs cost $20 a four pack. Not even treehouse special releases are that much

A house near Treehouse (Monson, MA) costs ~$200K
A similar house near Noble Ale works >$800K

Rumor also has it that going in with the hipster hair/beard combo will put you immediately at the front of the line.

Head on over to the mid-Atlantic thread to see what people are paying for Grimm cans.

    SPOILER ALERT: it's $7.

I came on to say the exact same thing. 6-pack equivalent calculator has changed the way I look at beer buying.

I wish Monkish would lower their limit to 1

I wonder how these same people shop for food. Do they just look for whatever is the lowest price without checking the price per ounce, which is even clearly stated for them? I'd wager so

The pic just posted on their instagram looks slightly hazy. Probably only $14/pk worth of haze, in my opinion.

Pretty much irrelevant. Monkish had theirs priced at about $16, so this is in line with local prices. Also:

    A) the cost of living is higher here, so they aren't even price comparisons
    B) there are a boatload more people here. The price is really about demand. How do you save your supply of whatever? You raise prices. Sucks that some people will get priced out of the market, but it will make supplies last longer
    C) people will surely pay it, so why wouldn't Noble/Cellarmaker charge it? In fact, it's still probably lower than the market equilibrium price. There will be hundreds of people who weren't able to get any that would have paid $20 gladly

You guys realize this price spread is common in every alcoholic beverage segment, right? Let alone all consumer goods. People pay more for what they perceive as higher quality. And, yes, hype/rarity is factored in. It's like some of you just woke up and realized how capitalism and wealth building works.

If this was a Noble/Cellarmaker collaboration on a West Coast style IPA, I'd gladly pay $20 for it. I've had plenty of stuff from Tree House/Trillium/whatever and I've had a few of the Monkish IPA releases and they just aren't my thing.

I'd be happy to drink it fresh off draft, but I dislike driving so I probably won't get to try it.

I have no problem paying 20 for a four pack. When it reaches 25 for a 4 pack? Yes. It will have to be more than just hops to get me buzzed for 25. Maybe weed infused DIPA. I can see it going to 25 when it becomes a hazy/muddy TIPA. Yes I do complain about the increase in $'s. When Beachwood & Noble's bottles first came out they were at 8 & 9ea. I thought that was crazy. But the beers coming out of these 2 brewery's are very good. So I can understand. I don't buy as many bottles of Showers and BW beers as I first did. There are so many great IPA's these days I like to mix and match my choices. I'm buying Monks cans at 14 & 16ea not knowing what I'm going to get. Hell I just started buying HpB cans not knowing the taste. I like the HpB cans better than Monks. What's the Nobke/Cellermaker can gonna taste like? I'm sure it will be good. $20 good? Hell, I don't know. @Earlycsquid said he's tried it and said it was good. Was it $20 good? I doubt I will try it as I'm away in SD today. I'm hoping I can secure a fan from two sources. If not.....no biggie. But yea...I have no problem paying 20 for something I haven't tried yet.

But this is problem the wave of the future. The west coast is trying to catch up on the haze trip that the east coast has been doing for the last 2 years. So the west is upping the rate. We will have to wait and see if the east will increase their 4 packs. As a matter of fact didn't OH set one of their can releases at $18 for a four pack? I think it might of been with a collab or their TIPA releases?

Still confused, $25 a 4-pack (which there's no indication we're going to) is equivalent to $8.60 a bomber, which is cheaper/on-par with most every other release at Beachwood and Noble, why draw the line based on the format? If anything, I'd pay a little premium for cans over bombers as I find the 16oz can more approachable than the bomber. You're already paying more than that equivalent price for "hops to get you buzzed" with the bombers from BW/Noble.

Looking forward to still trying it, but you're right, doesn't really look "murky/turbid AF" as they were claiming. I was expecting straight up yeast starter looking stuff.
