First time for me - I missed it last time it came out. Had plenty of the other abductions and never came away all that impressed.

Good to know. And you can have all the Cinnamon you want, way too overboard for my liking without something to cut it like in EOD.

Popped a Belgian Gothic that I had sitting in the cellar (Batch 612/613)- had I known that it was that good, I would have bought more. Was drinking incredibly well!

Anyone know of the closest bottle shop near the WI-IL boarder? on 94 that would sell fresh pipeworks?

Beer Bazaar in Hainesville is the closest to the border that I know. Great bottleshop.

I assume Fairy Basslet came and went at Jackson Tavern? They haven't updated their beer menu online since 7/01, so I wasn't sure if I should head over there after work tonight.

Just call and ask if they have any PW on tap.

Yeah I've been checking on their Beer Menus too and didn't see an update either. Kind of unusual as I've been following their Beer Menus for a few weeks now and they seemed to post an update every couple of days. Please let me know what you find out. I was planning on going tomorrow after work in case you don't go tonight.

Edit: Just checked untappd (because I'm not in a position to call a bar during work hours) and there was Emerald Grouper checks-in at Jackson as recently this afternoon. So if what I was told last week about Fairy Basslet not going on until EG kicked is true, that's probably good news if you are looking for FB. On the plus side if EG is still on tomorrow after work I will do my best to drain that keg

Thanks for the update. I'll head over tonight. If that EG hasn't kicked by then, there's a good chance it will by the time I leave!

Pretty sure I was lied to yesterday. I stopped by a small store to see if they had any Nelson Sauvin (they aren't on BM). I know PW released that and Lizard King this week. I see two cases of Lizard King sitting behind the counter, but no sign of Nelson. I asked the guy working there if they had any of it. He says "No, we didn't receive our Pipeworks yet." Guess I won't be going back there.

Saw Jackson Tavern updated their beer menus and put Fairy Basslet on late yesterday. Got the update as my train was leaving the station lol. Also saw that the little party store under the tracks at Ogilvie Train Station has bombers of Emerald Grouper just in case anyone downtown or coming downtown this weekend for Taste of Chicago was interested. There $16 though and that store is cash only.

I was riding my bike home from class yesterday and saw some guy walking down the sidewalk wearing a black T-shirt with the PW symbol on the back. I immediately pulled over to talk to him. The shirt was freakin' sick, he said he got it at an event recently (Double Door? my memory is fucked)... Funny part is the guy didn't even know what PW was! I was kind of confused.

I probably would've tried buying the shirt off his back but it was way too small for me.

The thing that I don't get is why would they hold back or lie about having it - its not like its a super limited beer. Its readily available at any of the places PW distributes too. Heck, Binny's Grand didn't even put limits on it and they put limits on anything remotely desired by more than one person.

The other thing to consider is that not all places PW distributes get their bombers - some places are just cans, and others are just select bombers.

I see imperial jones dog will be released in the near future. Is this a different beer from game of jones? Or another name change?

I agree with Fbarber, the Nelson warrior lacks the hype that usually results in a "regulars only" policy (though this release was quite delicious). The Lizard King you saw was fresh because it was behind the counter, but it's possible it could have been an old batch and unrelated to the recent release. Purchasing requirements in distribution are something I've been vaguely curious about for a little while. For example, could the shop have ordered the Lizard King but not the Nelson IIPA? Some of the shops I visit do not get every Pipeworks bomber release offered, and I know the guys well enough that I trust they would not lie to me. Is every distribution a package option? Does a shop have to order all Pipeworks distributes that week or otherwise order nothing? Anyway, these are more rhetorical questions until I take up NOTPipeworks on the standing offer to come by the brewery to drink some beers and, more importantly, get some damn answers ;-)

I believe those are different beers and not a name change, but I could be wrong?
