Finally got my hands on a Stout of the Union from the Sierra Nevada beer camp series. It's actually really nice, I'd definitely buy a six pack of it if I could.

I've certainly been there before. 1 small tweak is all it takes. It makes me squirm when I see guys bouncing the weights off the ground or rushing through deadlifts. Personally (not telling you what to do at all) I like 10 or less reps with them. Also, I prefer controlling the negative instead of dropping the barbell but that's just a preference. Do you pull from the floor or from the rack?

I'm 39 years old and about 160 pounds now and my one rep max on deadlift is about 340. I can't imagine 480 at my weight. That's awesome. I use the Wendler 5-3-1 plan, so I only deadlift once a week. I first hurt my back doing overhead press about eight years ago. Done it several times since then. I've learned to let it heal, no matter how frustrated that makes me. I hate missing workouts. I usually mix in Romanian deads, good mornings, or machine curls on my heavy days.

Nothing special; just 90% ground sirloin which is the usual for me.

I pull from the floor. We don't have bumper plates, so I always control the negative. With the Wendler 5-3-1 the last set is always AMRAP. That's less than 10 with everything except deads for me. I should probably boost my starting weight to avoid the higher reps on the last set.

I pull from the floor as well. And I would agree in that you should start heavier or do 3 or 4 warm up sets, gradually increasing in weight until you hit your working sets and go for 7-10 with them. I am a big believer of progressive overload. It has gotten me to where I am in a pretty short time period. @vabeerguy knows about it

I do three warm-ups and three working sets of 3-5 reps, increasing in weight each set, with the last set being AMRAP. Then I do assistance work. My primary lifts each week are shoulder press, deadlift, bench press, and squats. I do a lot of pull ups also. Then I suppliment with other exercises. I'm on a four week rotation with week four being deload. I've seen some pretty big gains using this method. Sounds similar to what you're talking about.

What's going on BAs. Canned on: 7 / 8 / 16. This one is a Farmhouse IPA hopped with mainly with Cascade but also some Centennial. The twist on this one is that it's brewed with Local NJ honey witch really adds a unique touch to the beer. I have not had a bad beer from Magnify yet! and truly believe they have a very bright future ahead of them. Damn fine beer, damn fine brewery.
    Cheers!

That's a good program and is pretty much identical to what I'm doing right now. For a while I was doing programs from my own design and now I'm switching to 4 day upper and lower split which is a hybrid of powerlifting and bodybuilding centered, around the same lifts (bench press, squats, shoulder press, and deadlift) Auxillary exercises to go with each main lift include incline dumbbell press, dips, pulldown, bent over row, barbell curl, leg press, leg extension, calf raise, cable crunch, back extension, dumbbell should press, dumbbell side lateral, reverse grip pulldown, seated cable row/t-bar row, alternating dumbbell curl, leg curl, decline situp, and hanging leg raise. For the main lifts I warm up with 4 sets, gradually adding weight and then hit 3 working sets of 3-5. The auxillary exercises (5 go with each main lift) I do 1 warm up set and then do 3 working sets of 8-12.
