As @FBarber said, you could walk up to Binny's on Grand - they should at least have NvU, but not sure about Citra. That's just under a mile. Or, you could walk down to Warehouse Liquors on Wabash (also just under a mile) or Printer's Row Wine Shop on Dearborn (just over a mile).

Binnys on Grand had Citra yesterday afternoon when I was in.

I’m heading to North Chicago (Naval Recruit Training Center) tomorrow for my son’s PIR (hoorah!) and am looking for Ninja vs Unicorn, Lizard King or Citra Ninja.
If anyone has any leads on any stores that may carry any of those in that general vicinity, I would greatly appreciate any tips.

I have no idea if any of those are available right now, or even make it to that area – but we won’t be heading downtown.
I could probably find a little time tomorrow to venture out 10 miles or so, if need be.

Also would love any leads on a good local spot – within that area – to grab a bite at a place with a good tap selection that preferably has some Pipeworks handles.

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers ~ Jim

In my experience, most Binny's would carry all three (at least I saw them recently). You can search for the nearest one to where you will be. There are a couple 15-20 miles south of North Chicago. Cheers!

    First off, congrats!

As for places up near there to get Pipeworks - thats gonna be tough (within 10 miles). I think the closest Binny's to where you'll be is Highland Park - its about 12 miles away, but its a pretty easy drive.

As for a place to get some pipe works beer, try beer menus to see if anyone up there has it on tap.

We haven't had Sure Bet (my favorite Pipeworks offering) in nearly a year now. Hoping that is coming soon. The newsletter said Simcoe is out next Monday and it's been a bit for that one too

https://www.beermenus.com/places/19582-the-art-of-beer-tap-room - can bring in food from nearby (about 10 miles straight south) - also bottle shop for "to go" - recent anniversary, still have some interesting Midwest draft selections

http://www.firkinrestaurantlibertyville.com/ - this place also uses beermenus, which indicates to me they care about their selection, etc. - https://www.beermenus.com/places/13454-firkin (about 10 miles straight west)

I couldn't find anything on draft in the 2 minutes I spent looking though - those were the closest options for cans (and the restaurant would be on-site only obviously).

Finally had Nelson Sauvin. I thought it was pretty damn good. Love the ninja and fish series from PW.

Was in there yesterday and I can confirm that there is still Lizard King & Ninja vs Unicorn cans available. I think Citra Ninja is gone at this point though (and likely is all around the area at this point). A few of the leftover kegs from the anniversary party have kicked (Cassian Sunset for sure), but a good number of them are still on.

Yeah, pretty sure it's new. I saw Local Option has it on their taplist for an upcoming event they are having. I'm guessing keg only, similar to Passion Fruit Guppy.

Draft only for now, sounds like they are looking to possibly can it.

Sweet. I'm all for more staples from Pdubs.

Although the greed in me wants the Fish brews to be canned on a rotating basis. I'd gladly pay $20 a 4 pack for those.

Oh man, that would be incredible... I'd be interested in the mango guppy - I had passion fruit guppy at BUG and really liked it.

In town for the week. Any chance either Fairy Basslet or Emerald Grouper are still lurking around anyplace people know of?
