Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

I personally don't care much for it, but it's got quite the hype around it.

 

Limited bottling and once a year release could help induce demand - TW Alexandria emailed saying hey have it as well at 1 pp.

Personally I have never had it but wonder how it stacks up to the likes of KBS and SMS.

 

Been awhile since I've had it - I'm sitting on a couple of bottles as well - but I like the other two better.

Even compared to KBS...which you can sometimes get if you really want it...Black Note, for whatever reason, is like finding a unicorn. (The 3 or 4 bottles I've ever come across were all from a storeowner who saved them for me.)

 

Double Orange Starfish and Double Dry Hopped Neutrino at Aslin tomorrow.

Seems like the last few releases have been somewhat quiet, but this could be a shitshow. I might take my chances with the crowler line anyway.

at last call, there was still Master Shredder and Crucial Taunt. Toof Ache was gone.

this batch of Nanticoke is GREAT.

 

The DIPAs are going to get the attention, but Master Shredder is so packed with flavor at 5.5% it's incredible.

Monocacy Brewing Gose of Althea is being sold around Frederick, MD in 6 pack bottles for around $10.99. Bought a single earlier in the week. Spot on delicious for a Gose. Similar to Victory Kirsch if you liked that one.

 

Brewer's Alley 20th Anniversary Ale on shelves around Frederick area as well. 22oz bombers for $5.99 barrel aged Belgian/wild ale with brett. You kidding me? I have one at house waiting to open. If its good I may by them out at that low price. Brewer's has been spot on with the BA wild ales so far.

 

Not really. The How Now Brown Cow / Mind the Hop release yesterday had a line for at least an hour until they ran out of MtH.

It's always a zoo at their releases.

 

I wanted to come in a give a shout out to the new Craft Beer Cellar on H St., NE which had its soft opening yesterday. They had a ton of awesome bottles that I haven't seen in DC outside of the NRG restaurants in years or ever including stuff from Prairie, Grimm, Holy Mountain and Drie Fonteinen.

that's good there's a shop that direction, other than Schneiders I can't think of much, until the WF opens I guess. Is that just a beer store or do they have bourbons, etc ?
