You may as well fight the rising tide. Or compel gravity to no longer be. You may not understand it, yet, it is.

You all sound so buttery. Stood in line for nearly two hours. I'll drink half and trade half. Wanting to try things from other breweries isn't why you missed out.

You missed out because you got shit to do. I don't. Deal with it, good god.

Turns out it wasn't the cigarettes and hard living that turned Keef's face to leather. It was waiting in the hot sun for whalez.

No. It was the heroin. Let's call a spade a spade.

I have to drive an hour to Aslin and wouldn't go just to drink there. I have no interest in trading because Aslin IPAs are my whalez; nothing I'd rather drink.

It was certainly nicer when I could go home with 4 crowlers per beer and could drink Aslin for a couple of weeks. I understand why they do it and look forward to expanded production.

What are Aslin's plans for expansion? Is it currently underway or just something they'd like to eventually do?

Thanks for that, rolled up first thing today and got it. Can't quite remember my last Sunday morning beer run.

It takes me 35-40 minutes, and I understand your sentiment. I feel lucky to have gone twice early this year on Saturdays when they would fill growlers if they ran out of crowlers (just the physical cans). Both times they had Master of Karate and the place was at 65% capacity at noon. I gladly left with my max growler allotment (128 oz of any IPA, no limit on anything else) and enjoyed drinking it all with many friends in the following days. I can't be mad that just barely a half year later, this experience is no longer possible.

Sounds like Tenleys out any other places Black Note might be floating around still?

Seriously, what thread is this? I'll make it easy on you Aslin homers - just pick up your convo over here.

In non-Aslin news, anyone tried the new Ocelot IIPA Buddhist Prodigy?

Is that a new Aslin beer?

In all seriousness though, I just haven't quite found an Ocelot beer yet that impresses me. Maybe it is because I'm not in the headspace of wanting the sharp and hop-forward brews of late, but they are just all very harsh to me. Even their stouts have the IBU and roast presence that I also associate with LCCB offerings that makes things kind of feel disjointed and less refined than the plethora of other offerings out in the market currently.

Ocelot's offerings have been incredibly inconsistent, but when they hit with an IPA, they can really knock it out of the park, imo. Home and Talking Backwards are both stellar beers, and I've enjoyed Two Lost Souls, Vandals, Watch Me Disappear and others from them. All that said, their beers don't necessarily warrant the scores they have on this site. A lot of their beers are in the 4.3-4.6 range when they probably deserve more to be in the 4-4.25 range, and almost certainly would be if they weren't boosted by almost exclusively homer ratings.

Quite possibly my favorite double IPA (or IPA) from them. Softer mouthfeel than some of their regular IPAs.
